Amazing antenna! I'm using it with a Baofeng BF-F8HP Pro and other stations report strong signal. I have no problems hitting VHF and UHF repeaters within range. Very solid base with really nice rubber foot to protect paint.

I could limp throw a rock (at a quarter strength) and hit the pole(s)Strong magnet, havent tested highway speeds but it's handled 65mph so far without slipping (yes that's technically highway speed, Im talking "HIGHWAY SPEED👹")Noticeable increase in range, hitting repeaters my handheld antenna couldn't or I am getting a better signal on repeaters I would normally get choppy/static-y transmissions onI can see why people on YouTube always seem to recommend this brand. I have only received 1 Nagoya antenna with unsafe SWR readings(multiple test locations), it was 2.0 on 2M / 4.0 on 70CM... Based on the reviews stating their SWR for that antenna I will assume that I may have just received on that slipped through QC (all cheap unbranded or bingfu antennas are horrible compared to Nagoya antennas, every one I tested were 2.0+ across both bands, heck, my stock antenna has a better SWR than those, surprisingly it's the same SWR as this car antenna 😮. Stock baofeng K5Plus whip style antenna, not the 1.25M antenna)

This antenna is great for those just getting started in amateur radio. I've used it both on my roof and on several vehicles, and it worked flawlessly in both cases. The magnet is strong and holds on at highway speeds. Overall, this is a great little magmount to use with an HT, and works decently well with mobile rigs as well.

This item is stellar. Of all my antennas I have a high SWR. This antenna out of the box gave me a 1.00 SWR off my 10Watt Baofeng UV-5RM handhelds. Allowing me to be mobile. Great antenna I highly recommend.

I've used many different magnetic Mount antennas over the years for many different services, and this antenna has been the most impressive of all in terms of tunability and stability. For the 2 m and 70 cm ham bands, even at high power, the SWR is virtually flat. For UHF GMRS my SWR is around 1.3-1.5:1. Impressive!Good quality RG-58U coax, far better quality than the type of coax supplied by other manufacturers, keep signal loss to a minimum. The magnetic base is coated with a rubberized material and is extraordinarily strong, make certain that the surface you intend on placing it on is not made from aluminum. I've also used this antenna place on a large sheet pan for fixed base use, and the SWR is also very usable like that.Because I am extremely fussy about putting things on the surface of my paint, I would recommend that prior to placing the antenna, wipe off the surface of the paint with a wet clean cloth several times and then dry, and similarly do the same to the bottom of the antenna before placing it. If you remove the antenna, I place it in a clean plastic bag so there's no chance that the bottom of the antenna will pick up on magnetic particulate which could be transferred to the pain finish. This is a quality product that will deliver to the discriminating radio operator, I recommend it with confidence.

Used this to connect to a Quansheng handheld. I used it to reach a local repeater with the antenna sitting on a table on my porch and was able to hit a 2 m repeater about 6 miles away. I had tried a number of other whip antennas on the unit and the report back was the signal was strong however the mic volume was still low. It is the radio and not the antenna. Bonus I was able to pick up a linked repeater on 70 cm that was 50 miles away. This will end up on my car however it performed well even without a ground plane. The adapter is a bonus as eventually I will use this with a regular mobile unit. The price point is excellent and proves you can get in ham radio without breaking the bank.

On April 30, 2021 I passed the Amateur Radio Technician examination and received my call sign from the FCC at the Technician class.My first radio purchases were an AT-D878UVII Pro and BTech UV-5x3. These handheld units don't come with the best antenna for either an apartment or automobile. I chose the Nagoya UT-72 Super Loading Coil 19-Inch Magnetic Mount antenna to increase my gain and thus reach in receiving and transmitting.After moving to Chicago, I gave away my car. Fact is having a car in Chicago is simply not cost justified for those who can work from home, are retired, or disabled. There are so many other ways to get around that over a full year cost substantially cheaper.While I don't have a car, I still am able to use this antenna with other modes of transportation and at home. It is simply an overall great antenna for handheld (or mobile) HAM radios.The biggest downside (for me) was the need to buy a 50 foot extension 50 ohm coax for home. The 17 feet simply wasn't long enough, but for a car, truck, or other modes of transportation 17 feet is enough.I do find one item of concern with this antenna, though. I'm concerned the SMA Female adapter won't hold up over time with the weight of 50 ohm coax (17 feet or 50 foot extension) cable. Maybe I'm wrong, but the coax keeps pull it down and the wire looks very fragile.Overall I have no problem highly recommending this antenna to any HAM radio operator for this car or even their home (with it mounted on something of a large metal mass). I've use both an air conditioner and a refrigerator successfully. (A cookie pan also works, but not as well.

Idk about transmitting but it works well for digital scanners.... I got an MfJ dual band that can't receive half of what I can off this little antenna .... I have 2 of them ...prolly gonna get 3rd..... Awesome scanner antenna especially for digital scanners

If you looking for a great antenna for your car, loook no further. Outstandingly good reception, especially for airband and will easily withstand legal road speeds without moving. Tested up to 120mph on private road with no issues. Connected to my TD-H3 handheld radio it performs brilliantly.

Used it in my truck for baofeng radios. Seems to help!
