Yes, I wear mine everyday. It is not quite as fast as a regular belt but is very sucure and sturdy. Very east to fasten and unfasten. Definitely will purchase another one.

Will this work outside your clothes as a tool belt without using beltloops?

Yes, but it is not a 2" belt, it is a stiff belt about 1.5" or 1.25". I use it to support about 3 or 4 pounds of equipment.
