A big help for someone with weak arthritic wrists. This is good for any food that isn’t soup. Good spork. Bowl of spoon not quit deep enough for soup. Not a complaint but more of a suggestion.

This is a perfect Utensil for people that have lost their “Range of Motion” or who are stiff. Also for people who have lost or have poor coordination. The bend in the Utensil- Makes Getting the spoon to your mouth/ much easier! To understand how it will work- Pretend you are using a Spork -like this! Make a Fist -with the Proper Hand- Leaving your thumb sticking out ( Like the metal part of the Utensil will be.)— Now bend YOUR Elbow- like you are bringing your Thumb (the food -to your mouth. —When you bend your Elbow -enough to get the Utensil- Any Where Near Your Mouth! WITHOUT the Bend in the “Spork”- you REALLY Must “Cock” your wrist to get your thumb ( the food ) into your mouth. That motion -is not easy -for “ Stiff “ patients! THIS IS THE ANSWER!😊👍

When it comes to assistive eating devices, different things work for different folks. My current diagnosis is Essential Tremor, although that can change at any time. My daughter bought me heavy eating utensils and they did not help me at all. I have both the spoon and the spork in this design now - they are very light weight and they are the most effective utensils I have tried so far. Sometimes even these do not get the food from the plate to my mouth, despite my struggles. I am fortunate to live in a senior living place with a lot of compassionate co-residents, and they encourage me to go ahead and eat with my hands when it is not a sloppy option. P.S. I have had Deep Brain Stimulation surgery for my condition, but as some of you out there know, it is not always effective. Just trying to share some pointers with you all.

This spork goes with the spoon I bought a while ago. My Dad is ambulatory and suffers with great palsies in his right hand. And of course he's right handed. These items make meals so much better for him because he is able to feed himself again and not dependent on my sister to help him eat his meals which frees her up so she is then not so stressed in her time constraints. This makes every day just that much easier with the 2 of them at least. And if I can help my Dad feel more independent and my kid sister a little less put upon each day, I feel like I might have helped a little more than I'm able to physically. Every bodies Happy!

My dad was having a difficult time with regular utensils. It was a constant struggle with spillage down his face, neck and chest. This works perfectly!! No more spillled and dropped food. Very well made. I highly recommend buying.

Works well for my mother with arthritis in her hands. The spoon area is large enough to scoop food or use the fork.
