ELUTENG M.2 NVMe SATA SSD Enclosure, USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps M2 SSDs Adapter

After upgrading my main PC nvme drive, I was left with an extra 500gb gen 3 nvme drive. Wanted an enclosure just to keep the drive safe and that I could use to back up random stuff or to clone my main drive. After looking through many usb 3.1 enclosures, I found this one. The price seem right, but the best feature is that it uses the Realtek RTL9210 chipset. This is the best chipset to use on external nvme enclosures. The other chips available from other manufacturers have issues and run very hot. This chipset also gives you the option to use nvme or ssd m2 drives, which you have to pay more for that feature on other chips. This tool less case is very easy to setup and I was ready to go in 2 minutes. After plugging the drive into the USB C port in the back of my pc, I was getting max speeds of 1000 MB/s reads and writes. Also I tested file copy to see if I would get any slowdowns. I was able to copy a single 50 gig file in a couple of minutes with no slowdowns. Then I copied a 166 gig folder with many files in it and I was extremely surprised that it copied the whole folder in about 6 minutes and the drive did not slowed down once. You can see the transfer rate on the picture attached. You can see that there are no significant dips or slowdowns. Also you can see the screenshot of crystalmark speeds showing the 1000 MB/s rates. I was also able to plug in the case into my Note 20 Ultra and I was able to see the drive and copy files into it. Now, after the benchmarks and tests the case got very warm. It would have been perfect if this case would be metal. I really dont see the point of having the heat pad in the package if the enclosure it plastic. This enclosure does exactly what is suppose to and does it well. Like a previous reviewer stated, I would not use this enclosure to keep the drive plugged in all the time. I would use it just for backing up data or moving files. ANd if you want to get a really good nvme drive , I would recommend the INLAND PREMIUM nvme drives, which is the one I have on this enclosure at the moment.

It works perfectly. Small and easy to use

Very easy to use. Easy to install the SSD. Lockdown was pretty snug so took a little getting used to, but it's totally tool free. I thought it was defective because the activity light didn't work but turns out either end comes off and I had put it together backwards. Keying each end might be helpful to avoid the same mistake I made, but I won't knock any stars off for that. Overall, fantastic product at a great price that did exactly what I needed it for. I'd recommend it!

Considering it’s lasted over a year, was reasonably priced, and does not have a fancy heat sink or fan, I don’t regret my purchase. I had a gaming laptop that had just one nvme slot with a tiny 2030 m-key m2 with 512gb. I wanted to upgrade it with a 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus but didn’t want the original ssd to go to waste so I got this enclosure which is one of the few that support the tiny 2030 size. Installation was super easy, small form factor, worked plug and play for my previous and current gaming laptop. What’s wrong with it? When transferring larger files for more than a few seconds, the case starts getting burning hot, and the transfer speeds quickly decline to zero. I have to unplug it, open the case and put it near a fan to cool it off before I can use it again. For better or worse, this usually happens with the larger files, like 4GB HD videos. It’ll get warm with documents and photos, but not burning hot. To put it into perspective, moved a folder with 4.8k files, 128GB of mostly photos and PDFs = warm, but no issues. Tried to move a folder with 107 files, 56.2GB, mostly large videos and it flat out stopped after 30 files. I had to split the move into 3 sessions, letting it cool in between. Not ideal but under normal circumstances I wouldn’t move that many video files in one day, so not ideal, but also not a deal breaker. For occasional use, this is great and has made it easy for me to move tons of files from my old gaming laptop’s ssd to the new one without relying on cloud storage. If you’re not planning to batch move large video files in one go, then it’s worth it. Otherwise get the enclosures with heat sinks and fans, but be prepared, they can be an investment. It's just an enclosure, but it does exactly what it needs to do, and does it well. It doesn't get very hot at all. Its a toolless case, and the tray/drive area can slide back in either way. It comes with two cables (which I personally prefer to a cable and an adapter). Speeds are as expected for usb 3.2 It support SATA and NVME, with all the different key types, and sizes (2230-2280). Price is on the lower end of the spectrum. These all seem like they should be standard for an M.2 enclosure, but many models fail at keeping it simple. They require a tool, don't support all the various types of drives, or aren't well designed. Would, and probably will, buy again

worked for my ssd - though make sure your ssd is compatible with this enclosure. Do your research !! Still using the old ssd, if you have some old ssd's hanging around this is a good option for access, though i will say the "screws" which hold the SSD in place are pretty cheap, just little plastic things. But so far I can't complain, still working as advertised. I cloned a new ssd using this, the new install works flawlessly. So far!!! anyway I could see where it might not work for some.

Great product. Laptop died, power switch and keyboard stopped working. Bought this enclosure, removed the SSD from the laptop, recycled the laptop with all the data removed and safe in my hands. Enclosure functions perfectly, price was very reasonable.
