This is 4mm ID (0.157)- so if you need actual 3/16" (0.187) it will be tight.
I should have read the description closer. The hose this is replacing was an ASME ("English" units in other words) sized hose and METRIC substitutes don't work, it has to be an actual 3/16" (0.187 inch) not 4mm (0.157 inch). PVC tubing in theory can be heated to "boiling water" temps and gets soft, but when I did that, first it is difficult to handle scalding hot small tubing, and second when it cooled it shrink and pushed itself off the nipple. Since I had not cut the tubing and it was not visible that anything had been done with it I sent it back. (I did eventually find an actual 3/16" tubing). This brand tubing is "OK" but the fact that it is METRIC sized should be forefront, and then say "sight stretch to 3/16" for certain applications.

It fits perfectly it's durable and did the job saved me $150 dollars that a hvac tried to charge me to install this tubing on my furnace. TikTok helped me install it by myself free. Amazon literally has the supplies/everything you need for DIY projects and YouTube/TikTok is your guide. I'm 100% satisfied!!!!

Crimped
It came rolled up and had crimps about every 6 inches., The crimps would not come out. I put it in the trash because it is useless, unless you want tubing that has crimps for some reason. I needed tubing without crimps.
