Castrol Engine Shampoo 300mL

I always love castrol products. Been using them for over 5 years. Being a part time mobile mechanic castrol is all we use and this product is brilliant. Unlike many others this cleaner is PVA based and hence should not harm any oil seals.

Surprisingly worked very well on a RAV4 2.2 diesel. Not only did it clean it out in a single change but its stayed clear for the past 300 miles so far. Its fair to say the engine is in good condition and using toyota filters etc but regardless it did do a good job on the flush and it didn't seem as thin as the usual flushing products which look and smell a lot like diesel or some other type of thin oil.

I’ve given this as 5 stars but it’s actually based on what others have said. I’ve done this as since purchasing I did some research (yes should have done this beforehand) and as I use fully synthetic Castrol Edge and change the oil and filter every 6k miles there’s no need to flush or use this type of ‘shampoo’…..in fact it’s advised not too.

Usually straight after a couple minuets of running the engine after a oil change the oil is black. This is common for diesel engines. Now and then I'd have the engine flushed to clear out all the crud from the oil channels etc and the oil will stay clean for a couple of days. This does the same but without the hassle of dropping the original oil the refilling with flushing oil etc. However you may still need to remove a small quantity of oil before adding this if your (as mine was) as overfilling is just as bad for your engine as having a low oil level

Definitely a noticeable difference when first applied .. dead easy to use .. just follow instructions.. two bottles for large v8’s. Made the engine quieter and smoother .. as does an oil change though and you add this when you change the oil. However on inspecting ‘treated’ oil when changed there was a bit more gunk than usual. I think it would come into its own on an engine that was poorly maintained .. or sat for long periods

This stuff IS good, from reviews saying the words “snake oil” to reviews saying it is great, I can tell you for sure that this stuff is good. I am in the motor trade and myself am quite wary of these additives and stuff, but I changed the oil in my 14 plate Skoda Fabia 1.2tdi, used this stuff and 500 miles later the oil is still golden brown, you just dont see that in a diesel engine , the oil is usually black again after running the engine. I would recommend it to anyone , I could t say if it will fix any issues but it definitely does what I intended when I wanted. If your engine is old and rattles don’t expect it to run like new, it it won’t do any harm to try!

J'étais septique sur sa et bien après avoir fait ma vidange je confirme que c le top sa nettoie super bien depuis que je l'ai fait je contrôle régulièrement mon niveaux ,l'huile est très propre donc efficace

Tout comme le bardahl et le Gs27, j'aime bien se PRÉ-VIDANGE castrol, le fait qu'il soit sans solvants pour ne pas attaquer les joints. On peut rouler tranquillement 10-15min avec et vidanger pour maximiser le nettoyage ! (Attention de ne pas oublier de remplacer le filtre à huile). L'huile se vidange plus facilement et l'huile neuve reste claire bien plus longtemps même sur diesel. Avant a peine vidanger que quelques kms plutard l'huile était déjà noire (diesel), après un PRÉ-VIDANGE cela prend beaucoup plus de temps à noircir ! 👍
