Sumac is the dried, ground fruit of flowering plants in the Rhus genus. Sumac is a traditional Middle Eastern ingredient that is used to add a citrus component to meats or salads. Lemony
I heard sumac tastes lemony, but I expected there would be some kind of off-flavor. You know how lemongrass and rose hips taste lemony but also woody/grassy? This sumac isn’t like that. It’s just a pure lemon flavor.

I was looking for Sumac everywhere and this is the best I have found. The quality is excellent, spice was fragrant and fresh. The jar is large, will last us a year or more and we cook every day. We also ordered Aleppo pepper from this company and it was very high quality. Highly recommend.

SUPER FRESH & SUPER FLAVOR
I am so thrilled with the sumac! It is so fresh and full of flavor. I tried it with some of the Aleppo pepper, which I also highly recommend. They go well together. I will be looking at some of the other spices to see what I might like. Thank you for the great products.

FULL OF FLAVOR!!!!
I will be ordering all my spices from here. This Sumac tastes far better than the brand I normally buy. It was so bright and so intense in flavor, it almost tasted fresh.
