Smells awful & chalky like texture
This was a trusted brand I’ve used for many years because it is long lasting and very effective. Sadly, the last two batches I brought had a really funny stale scent, like cookies or potato chips that has gone bad. Thinking that it was only that bad batch, I brought new ones thinking it would be unscented like the ones I’ve been using all these years. But it all came out bad smelling like food that had gone bad. After reading the reviews it seems other had experienced something similar like this brown color paste product that used to be white and unscented. Do not buy this product. It’s no surprise the product is on sale. Don’t waste your money, this item cannot be returned or eligible for refunded.

It works!
I sweat -- a lot -- and this is the BEST deodorant I have ever used! A little goes a long way, it's easy to get out of the jar and you can scrape out every last bit of it -- no waste, there's a lot in the jar so it lasts for a long time and you get your money's worth, it's VEGAN and it works!! Warning for sensitive skin people -- I originally bought the lavender scent and it smelled so good BUT it gave me a nasty rash. So I have to buy the fragrance free.

awful
just the shipping on this was almost $20, which was almost double the cost of the actual deodorant. even though it stated free shipping when i ordered it. i didn't mind too much because when i first started to use this, it worked wonderfully. it was like i wasn't even sweating & my underarms literally had zero smell whatsoever. then after a few weeks my underarms were just hurting every time i moved my arms & one day i got home & looked at them & they were sunburn red. i immediately wiped off the deodorant & when i did it felt like i was scratching raw skin. i don't have sensitive skin either. i don't know what in this caused such horrible irritation because from what the ingredient label says, it's all natural. i definitely wouldn't buy this again & i wouldn't recommend anyone else do so either. this had excellent reviews from what i saw before i ordered it & i hadn't seen any complaints like i had so i did not see this coming.

Almost perfect
This product is great and works well almost all of the time. I've been using it for quite a while now. I started with the stick but moved to the paste as it's easier for me to apply. I haven't found *thee* perfect deodorant but this one comes darn close as it is quite reliable and, knowing my body and how I react to various conditions, fairly predictable. I have very.sensitive.underarms so to counter chafing, I began to apply a thin layer of plain coconut oil first. Since doing this, I haven't had any more problems with a rash. After a minute for the oil to soak in, I then apply this deodorant. (If there is any residue on my clothing, so far, it always washes off. If the area to be laundered looks like it needs a little boost, I just spray a bit of white vinegar mixed with water before tossing it in the wash.) I can't reapply the same in one day without washing and drying the area first or I'll get red. If I just need to freshen up, I will sometimes powder my underarms mid-day with some cornstarch instead of doing a reapplication. It really is fragrance free - which I appreciate. When I want to have a light scent, I will use the Rose + Vanilla. It's not overpowering and doesn't leave a lingering perfume-y, or chemical-like smell on me or my clothing. I wish they had sample sizes for travel but also to try out new blends before committing to an entire container. All in all, after many attempts and epic, stinky fails at "natural" deodorants (homemade and store bought), this one has been the best fit to date.

Not the same as it used to be
I used to purchase this deodorant directly from the manufacturer, but they stopped selling it. I found it on Amazon and found that the product wasn't the same. It smells strange and has an unusual texture. It is spreadable, but seems old. I'm going to guess it has been stored for a long time and maybe was good at some point. The original product was exceptional. It worked, was truly unscented, and the texture was smooth.

The best so far... but detox first
I've tried more than a dozen different natural deodorants over the past 18 months. I sweat A LOT so finding one that could hold up to that and keep odor at bay was quite the challenge. Schmidt's was the best though.Brands I tried included:Magsol Magnesium DeodorantLumeKopariUnderarmedTom'sLaVanillaPrimal Pit PasteCrystalJasonEvery Man JackWeleda SpryMilk & Honeyand of course Schmidt's.Like I said, of all the deodorants, this one by far worked the best, but not without it's challenges. First, you have to scrape it out and rub it between your fingers to apply. Although it was easy to wash off my hands, I personally don't like creams like that on my fingers because it makes me feel some kind of way when I have to apply my make up afterwards.Secondly, even the most sensitive natural deodorants have a burning sensation in my pits. I was plagued with a dark ring under my arms, no matter which brand I tried.Lastly, both the Ylang Ylang and Fragrance-free scents had a nice, clean, light smell - unlike Lume which was overwhelming to say the least.Sadly, after 18 months I still haven't found that perfect one that can last me all day, in spite of showering and applying in the morning. And I'm not a huge fan of reapplying things in the middle of the day like some have suggested.Of all the ones on this list, I would recommend Schmidt's, followed by Milk & Honey. But like others have suggested, the thing that matters more than anything is making sure you detox first. If you don't, none of the other stuff matters. To detox, I applied bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar to my pits twice a day for week before applying the deodorant. The detox caused my skin to swell and become extremely irritated, to a point that it hurt to lower my arms. After a week the pain was gone and I could apply the deodorants with no other reactions.
