The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is very thin (knap doesn't hold more than a day of dirt) and has to be vacuumed daily or everything it catches scatters through the house. I love the light and thin feel of the rug. Easy to vacuum and wash. Works great on catching moisture, dirt and grime from dog paws. I do have a husband, two kids and dog and the floors get messy quickly. This definitely cuts back on the grime throughout the rest of the house. I have a large mat at the main door and keep smaller ones at the dog bowl, dog door and patio.

I absolutely love the one step mud mat. I originally purchased one large one at the IX center in Cleveland and cut it in half so I could put it by my garage door and back door. I have a large golden retriever pictured above and 3 boys, so needless to say I have a lot of dirt tracked into my house. Plus with the Cleveland winters a lot of water/ snow. Once I started using the one step mud mat it helped to trap the dirt so that it wasn’t tracked through my house. I love these so much that I did go back and buy a large one for my front door. I am a huge advocate for this product. I have also shown/ convinced my family members how great they are and both my mom and brother have now purchased them for their homes. It is amazing how much dirt/ water this mat can trap and keep from being tracked through your house. Get yours and you will be so surprised, but you you won’t be disappointed!

These are the best rugs. We have a very small, very high traffic back entryway. This has drastically cut down on the mud and water that would come in whenever it rained or snowed. To clean them, if they are relatively dry, I will take them outside and beat the dust and dirt out of them, usually daily. If they are wet, or starting to look dirty, I will shake them outside quickly, then toss them in the washer on a hot water cycle, then dry on low in the dryer. Despite all this washing , the backing has not cracked. I have another similar rug like this, by a different brand, and the backing on that one has cracked. I'm looking into buying another one from this brand, as I am very pleased with the quality. People may say it looks like an unfinished remnant, it does not. The beauty of it being made this way, is that there is no bulging around the edges, that can get caught on the door, and also you are able to cut the rug, to fit your exact specifications. My husband was able to cut a strip off of this rug, in order to fit a step in our entryway (see picture). And people may say it's a pain in the butt to prep these rugs. They are a little more labor-intensive then opening the package and rolling it out, but for the amount of work that I have saved in sweeping and mopping, a little preparation at the beginning is well worth it. Put it into an old pillowcase, secured on the end with a large rubber band, and follow the washing instructions. I check my washer filter screen, to clean out any lint them have accumulated in there. The washing is preparing it to be more absorbent, very similar to modern cloth diapers. You have to wash a few times, before using, for maximum absorbency. I hope this review can help debunk the other negative reviews. If you have an entryway that you are continually having to clean, and getting frustrated by the amount of dirt and muck that is being brought in give this a try. You will still have to clean the rug frequently, but it is so much easier to shake out a rug, than to mop a whole floor.

It’s obvious that this mat picks up more dirt and mud than a typical mat; however, based on the reviews, I was expecting a miracle mat. We bought this mat for the back door beneath the doggy-door where my dogs first place their muddy feet multiple times a day. They have been tracking muddy footprints all over the house for ages, forcing us to cover the woods floors and the couches in towels every time it rains until the dirt dries up outside. I was hoping this mat would be a great solution, but it isn’t really cutting down on the muddy tracks. I’ve only washed it about 3 times and perhaps the secret is to wash it a hundred times before it works, but so far no luck. About the only things I like about this mat are its large size (we got the biggest one) and it’s so thin that it doesn’t get stuck on the door when opened. I’ll keep using it because it covers more surface area than my old mat alone and I’ll cross my fingers one of these days it will do what it’s advertised to do.

Saw this item at a Boat and RV show, and was impressed. Wanted to think about it overnight so ordered on Amazon the next day. 1. Received the rug folded in such a way that there was a crease that I couldn't get flatten out. The rug should have been rolled, NOT folded, for shipping. 2. So, this rug is $55, and yet when you receive it, it takes A LOT of messy prep work. You have to vacuum and then wash the rug before using. Why couldn't they send these ready for use from the factory!! First, you will vacuum a bag full of fiber/lint from the carpet. I had to empty my Dyson V6 a total of 8 times. Then when I washed and tumbled dried it on low as instructed (in a relatively new Samsung washer and dryer), the neoprene backing flaked off in a few small areas. Returning it without ever having used it. Cannot recommend it.

This mat is the perfect size for my side door where I let my dogs in. It does a great job of getting their feet drier than a normal rug and a pretty good job of removing mud. I have had a few times where I have to still wipe their paws, but really, it's not like they can wipe them back and forth like we can. (I have 3 giant breeds- 2 short hair and 1 long hair- does a great job on all of them) It's very thin- at first I thought it would be a piece of junk, but it fits well under all my doors and is still absorbent and due to the neoprene doesn't move at all with my rowdy dogs running in and out. I wish it was a bit less expensive, but I think it does a great job and I'm thinking of buying another one for my garage entry door. As to the lint issues others have posted- I thoroughly vacuumed it and washed it. There was some lint, but after washing and drying another load, the lint was gone and not all over my clothes. Definitely not a big deal and it did lay straight after I washed and dried it.

We have purchased this rug numerous times, simply because of how amazing it it. It is super quick to absorb muddy paws on our two big dogs but also with humans too. We have them in our garage, house, basement and camper. We use them daily and they are super easy to clean. We have not had to throw one away yet and we’ve had the first one for approximately 8 years now. We will continue to use these rugs because it makes life so much easier. We recommend them to all of our friends and family.

These are the best mats ever from a great company! We have purchased at least 8 of these since 2019. Not because they wear out (they don't) but because we buy them for family, rental houses and a second home. They did not yellow our black and white floor as previous mats did. You can easily lift it with one hand to shake off dirt. After washing they dry quickly. As we were recently moving our daughter into her new place, we left dusty footprints on her dark flooring but as soon as I put a mat down there were no more prints! They do shed at first, but it is not a big deal. Just follow the directions to vacuum and wash it first. We live in snow country, so I have them at every door. You will never buy a different mat again.
