how long does the shine effect stay

24 hrs. Next day you have to spray again on the wig. After few days of continuous use it retains more of the luster or shine. I spray little bit every day. Then, my wig looks natural hair. Wig drys out as the natural hair gets body oils naturally. But when you don't have natural hair we have to use wigs. It is inexpensive product and lasts over a month so using every day is okay with me.....
