Do I have to buy a copper strip separately

Copper strip ? I used cat6a cable so it has a shielding foil, that is what is grounded to connector

I was successful with gen 1. with pass-thru gen2, every termination failed on at least one wire. is it just me or have others experienced the same?

What gauge(AWG) size are you using? I was successful every time with AWG 23 other than once or twice due to my own error.
