One thing to note though is that they are very fragile, if you press one in between your finger it will fall apart. Once cooked though the boba are delicious, soft, and sweet (once soaked in sugar syrup). As some previous reviews had stated there was some powder in the bag, and after sifting the entire bag there was only about a cup of powder. I was left with about 3 quart sized ziploc bags full of boba after sifting. I did find a few large groupings of boba pearls. While this is slightly annoying I do have a friend who wants to see what would happen if I cook them like that, so they won't go to waste. As for cooking the boba, I cooked them for about an hr and left it sitting in the pot for about the same time before I strained them. Once they had soaked in the brown sugar syrup they were sweet and soft(I like my boba on the softer side which is why I cooked them for longer than the directions). Review: Treat boba delicately - The really good boba will be the kind you have to cook for 30 minutes, steep for 30 minutes, drain, and rest for 15 minutes. You never know if the product you are buying will come whole or as powder until you open the vacuum sealed bag. Mine arrived in a box too big for the boba bag, and I was worried it may have been damaged. Upon arrival, I put the still vacuum sealed boba bag into the refrigerator for 24 hours. Today I opened up the bag and the boba was perfectly formed. As I tried to pour it into the measuring cup, it spilled out onto my counter. I took a photo of the boba that I am unable to post, but the boba was all whole. however, it is fragile so don't bang the bag around... The cooked boba was very good - flavorful and chewy when placed in your drink of choice. I think this brand is good bet for those who don't mind spending the time to cook it the traditional way.

Good Boba but are fragile before cooking

Treat boba delicately

Youโve been warnedโฆ
A lot of it came as powder not tapioca balls. After cooked it did not look right. I tasted it and the texture was like eating pasty glue with a horrible taste that is indescribable (plastic-gruel??). I had not listened to other reviews and paid the price. Another warning, I left it in the water after that โtaste testโ for about an hour and it desolved into a congealed mess that threatened to ruin my garbage disposal. I am not sure what this stuff is, but Iโve had plenty of tapioca boba, and this stuff is not it. And it is not returnable.

Decant once opened
This product DID come vacuum sealed. The boba is VERY crumbly if it's left in the bag, and that's why I would recommend decanting the pearls. Leaving them in the bag will cause them to dry up, and start breaking down into powder in the bag. There is very little taste, so you still have to cook it in brown/black sugar or honey for taste. It is great value for the price, but it's not the best quality. It's what most boba shops use if they're not making their own.

The Grade A pearls are a definite "go-to" for Boba lovers!
The texture of these pearls... amazing! Perfectly chewy, every single one! They arrived very well packaged and super fresh. Less than 1 tablespoon of crumbs in the entire bag. They are very delicate due to the freshness, but even if they had crumbled a little more, these were totally worth buying because of the simple ingredients. They are not loaded with chemicals like the instant or quick cooking pearls. For perfectly chewy "QQ", sweet bobas, the recipe is below: -Boil 8 cups of water -Add 1 cup boba to the boiling water, stir until floating. -Cover, reduce heat to medium and boil 15 mins. Stir every few minutes. -Drain boba and rinse with HOT water, set aside. -Boil 1 cup dark brown sugar with 1 cup water. -Add hot boba, cover, and boil on medium heat for another 15 mins. Stir to avoid sticking to the pot. -Remove from heat and keep them warm until used. ***Adding cold liquids while hot will ruin these,ot makes them harden very quickly. Make sure to use within 2 hours for best results.

We got boba at the house ๐
Delicious and pretty easy to make. It does take a while to make them though and you can not make extra to save for later. They are best made fresh. Texture and taste is just like any tapioca boba pearls you get from the Boba place.
