Rigid arch support for overpronation/plantar fasciitis
I have severe overpronation causing ankle and knee pain, and Iโm a nurse and runner so Iโm on my feet all day. I have tried many different inserts, including custom-made from a podiatrist. Spenco Max are the only "off-the-shelf" insoles that have rigid/firm arch support that donโt squish under my feet (versus flimsy plastic or gel insoles that give into my ankles rolling inward). I can put these in sneakers without the shoe feeling too tight. Even after sweating all day, they havenโt held onto any odor. I wear size 8 and the womenโs 7-8.5 worked perfect for me. Highly recommend

Far superior to my custom orthotics
I have flat feet and severely overpronate. I have worn custom orthotics for about 10 years but as I got more athletic and fit those orthotics wit the style made stopped working. I was actually in more pain when wearing the orthotics than barefoot. I lost a lot of weight and am more fit that I have ever been., Went to a new podiatrist who automatically talked me into getting her $400 custom orthotics and she wanted me in the Brooks Beast. In no way would listen that I was not comfortable at all. So got a refund and off to an orthopedic surgeon who finally had answers and #1 for him was Spenco Total Support Insoles. I wear a neutral New Balance running shoe and he said the problem had been I had been buying shoes to fit the orthotic and it should be the other way around. The moment I stood on these insoles in his office I felt support and comfort. We trimmed them to size and my feet have been granted a new life. I get such support, stability and comfort from these orthotics. Honestly better than I ever got from custom orthotics. It is important to note these are not orthotics to be worn just for comfort. They are strong, durable and rigid meant to provide that needed support for the overpronator. There is rigid arch support with a deep heel cup that has a ton of cushioning. When I started wearing these I felt so great I exercized and walked ant least 5 miles a day for a week and overdid it. Needed a short break before easing back in. With any new orthotic you must give them a break in period. And as I said I get more support and comfort with these than with $400 custom orthotics. Another note, when I first wore these they squeaked which I read was a common thing with new orthotics. I put some moleskin under the heel which silenced it some but they just needed to be worn in and now the squeak is fully gone. I am rather stunned at what a high end product these are and also how durable. I have been suffering with pain for no one would help me get the correct orthotic and understand what I truly need. Till this doctor. Finally no more pain and no more buying product after product to try. But remember don't overdo at first and ease into these. These are very structured with a lot of support. But they will help. Let your feet and body adjust. I can't recommend them enough.

Nice arch support! Work well for myself and my big and tall husband
After trying many different insoles for my husband, I'm pretty certain that the Spenco Total Support Max insole is one of the best otc insoles out there. I can't tell you how many different types of insoles I've purchased for him as he has suffered for quite some time with the outer edge of his foot hurting him. After I felt the firm arch area of these orthotics, I wasn't sure if my husband was going to tolerate them. He has always walked on the outside of his feet and has suffered from a lot of back pain and the first day that he wore these, I was sure he would take them off and complain that they hurt his feet, but he didn't!! He said they felt good and that his back was hurting way less than ever before, and he wasn't limping from foot pain either....even after a 10 hr work day in steel toed boots. When he first tried these on, I noticed right away how much better his posture looked and then he looked at me in total astonishment by how correct his feet were positioned and how good they felt. I should note that he has medium to high arches. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and a Morton's neuroma on my right foot, a callous ( or undiagnosed bone spur) on the ball of this foot, and I've also broken the same foot in two different places on two separate occasions. I also have high arches. These inserts have great arch support and they are a full foot insole, which it's what we prefer. My arches weren't sore after wearing these in my work boots all day, that area felt great...I do wish that they had more padding in the ball of the foot area, but that was only an issue with my problematic right foot, as I have no complaints with the left foot. After about 6 or 7 hours my 2nd and 3rd toes were slightly pained by my neuroma, but not as much as they have been on prior occasions. These insoles did not make my shoes tighter, nor did they cause the top area to feel snug. My work boots are big to begin with and even after inserting these they are still very roomy. I don't think they take up much room at all. Both myself and my husband will continue to wear these.

Best insole you can buy!
I donโt normally write reviews, but I had to on these insoles. Iโm 75 years old had numerous shots in my ankle and was told I needed surgery. I wear the. Spenco flip-flops all the time and theyโre the best they align your foot your ankle and everything so I thought I would try these insoles. I bought one pair put them in my shoes and they are the best thing that ever happened. I know everybodyโs different but honestly, itโs worth a shot. They are really really good. Iโve tried every pair of BROOKS, ASICS and Hokas they were ok BUT then I put these insoles in those shoes and they are truly truly amazing pain is gone.

Good for plantar fascia related issues if you need a high arch support.
Like many other reviewers, I'm battling PF, but only in my left foot. I got PF as a running / aging issue back in May and over the past several months, I've tried lot of insoles. If you have a new case of PF, I would strongly recommend you see your doctor or podiatrist for both advice on how to minimize the injury, start recovery, and hopefully work back to normal. I'm in the 'try to get back to normal' phase now. The best arch supports I have came from the good feet store, but were way over priced. I've been those expensive supports around from shoe to shoe and I tried these looking for a lower cost set that felt good. These Spenco Total Support Max insoles worked very well for me. I need a pretty high arch support. My arch length is about a shoe size larger (11.5) than my actual foot length (10.5). Some of the other insoles I tried were not high enough. The Spenco ones were great and low cost. I think these are my go-to insole for multiple pairs of shoes while I battle PF. Here are the other things I tried: - Superfeet Green - Not bad, but not as high of an arch support as these Spenco's. Superfeet also cost at least 50% more. - Sof Sole Air Orthotic - Very low arch support. Didn't work for me at all. - Pedifix arch bandage - Not an insole, but a bandage to compress the arch. Worked a little, but not very good. - Custom heat molded insole from Road Runner sports. Also good, created a high arch support, but cost 2X the Spenco I'm pretty pain free now, but use insoles, and do lots of stretching. I'm not able to run without causing PF pain flare ups afterwards, but I hope with continued arch and leg exercises, I'll get back to that. One more thing...you might want to set a set of the spenco sandals or put arch supports in your slippers. Not walking barefoot, especially first thing out of bed in the morning really helped my PF issue.

Yes, they are great.
Great. Better than Power brand. Cost less, supportive and not quite as hard and more comfortable.

Arch support not in correct place on my foot, otherwise would be great!
I would give this item 5 stars based on quality and comfort, but the placement of the arch support does not line up with my arch. I wear a size 7 narrow shoe, but my feet are actually between 6 1/2 and 7. (one foot is 6 1/2 and the other is s few millimeters over size 6 1/2). I ordered size 2, following the measurements on the size chart. The insoles are quite a bit too long- probably about 3 inches from the point to the top of my longest toe, but if trimmed they would have fit in my shoe perfectly. Since I didn't want to trim them before I knew if they would work for me, I tried them out both by placing the arch supports on the floor and standing on them, and by placing them in an open toe shoe, so the excess length could fit out the front. My heel fit well in the heel cup. I have very narrow feet, so that was a thrill to me. The level of support, height of the arch, and cushioning was perfect. I liked how there was a springy gel-like insert under the rigid heel. However, when my foot was placed correctly in the heel cup, the arch support was not in the correct place on my foot. It was about 1/2 to 1 inch too far back. If they fit my foot right, these would have been by far the best arch supports I've ever found

Takes a bit of getting used to but surprisingly good
I was skeptical. I've been suffering from foot pain for the better part of a year and had a feeling it was plantar fasciitis, though I've not bothered wasting a doctor's time to tell me what I'm fairly certain it is. I've used 3 other inserts and none have been effective in reducing the pain. I always felt like there just wasn't enough padding to support me standing all day at work. These ones are... odd. They aren't any more padded than any of the other inserts I've used. In fact, the hard arch support feels much, well, harder than anything I've used, even inserts that market themselves as having arch support. It took me about a week of discomfort before my feet got used to these things. And I mean serious discomfort. Once I adapted to using them, though, night and day difference. The pain from standing and walking, even after I get home and take my shoes off, has decreased significantly compared to before. That in and of itself makes them worth the money. Only minor complaint is that they don't completely fill my shoe. I wear a size 12 and there's a gap of a couple millimeters between the edge of the insert and the edge of the shoe. I do notice this sometimes when walking but it's not a deal breaker. Just something to bear in mind if you have large feet.

Wrong size
Got size 13 but was way too long for my size 13 shoes

The gold standard for all my shoes
Perfect arch support, which results in less pressure on my spine. I'm tall and skinny with long narrow feet that needs strong arch support. These ones do it better than any off the shelf ones I've tried from my local chemist.
