Great when space is limited.
Little in size but great in use. It is sturdy but not too heavy to move when needed. A unique design that allows easy use in a confined area of worktop.

Dough
I bought this item on sale a few weeks ago, to make bread dough. I've made a couple of loaves with differing hydration and both have turned out great. The mixer couldn't be simpler to use, with a timer that counts up to 10 minutes (after which time, if it's been running continuously, you'll need to stop and let it cool down for 20 minutes or so) and a dial for speed and that's it. It feels solid and well made and the attachments are neatly stored in a caddy that sits in the bowl when not in use, which I really appreciate because I can't lose track of them or get frustrated with them taking up space in drawers. The suction power is enough to ensure the mixer doesn't move about while in use. Unlike other reviews, I don't find it super noisy. I'm happy with my purchase and hope it stands up to the test of time.

Great all round home stand mixer
I bought this stand mixer a I’ve been looking for one for some time and it was on a good offer. I’ve previously owned a Kitchen Aid heavy duty mixer, which was both fiddly and a bit large for my kitchen. This seemed to fit the bill for one that’s up to all home kitchen tasks, compact and easy to clean. It arrived on time and so far I’m happy with its robustness and versatility. It’s mixed baked, pizza and bread dough and pasta dough with no problem. It is far easier to clean than I’d expected and stores everything within itself, which really helps. I do have to agree, this is not a quiet machine, which is why I’ve taken it down from 5 to 4 stars.

No customer support from Morphy Richards for broken product
Disappointed. I use this mixer for pizza dough and it has stopped working. It always smelt a bit of burning when using and sometimes seemed to struggle a little but managed. Now it has stopped working altogether. On inspection the gear inside which is made of plastic is completely worn. No replacement parts available and Morphy Richards not interested unless I can show the problem existed when I bought the unit. Very loud when in use but as it was only for 10 minutes I wasn’t bothered but it may put some off.

Super Mixer
I have been using my food processor and handheld electric whisk for years when baking. I hIt worked but have always hankered after an electric mixer stand but just do not have the counter space for it. I chanced across the Morphy Richards Mixstar and it seemed to be everything I wanted and needed. And that's exactly what it has proved to be. I love it. I love everything about it. A) It's compact. B) It is easy to use. C) It's easy to clean. D) In fact, it does everything it claims to do. I have only had it a week or so and have already used it five times. For me it has been the perfect solution and I'm glad I waited so many years for it to cone along!

Better than my stand mixer. Quicker, quieter, better capacity.
I've just used it to make the Christmas cake. The best mixer I have ever owned. Mixed up 2x 10" Dundee cake batters at the same time. The bowl is much better thany stand mixer. Looking forward to making the Yule log tomorrow. Very impressive so far.

Louder than a jet taking off, but kneads bread.
Bought for making stiff sourdough after my stand mixer kept popping open in defiance. BREAD: it works well for mixing and kneading bread, has a built in time tracker. ISSUE: Incredibly LOUD. FIX: I now have a set of kitchen earplugs, set it on a thick carpeted board stolen from an unused cat tree and wrap a towel around where the bowl meets the base to dampen the noise and close the kitchen door to not terrorise the animals. Sometimes use the “kitchen pillow” (mentioned below) ISSUE: doesn’t work well with small batches FIX: only use for larger quantities (500g flour and more) ISSUE: the rim can get coated with slurry and not incorporated FIX: always add dry before wet ISSUE: the feeding hatch will fall in if you’re not careful replacing it on the lid. FIX: a thick line of coloured food grade silicone around the edge and the handle made it non-slip. ISSUE: the bread paddles are textured so they can be a bit of a pain to clean if not done immediately. FIX: A quick wipe of paddles and top of bowl stem with oil before using ISSUE: dense bread will kick the lid off FIX: I sometimes smother it with a heavy pillow like I’m in its will. WHIPPING: Whips well if enough liquid is used. ISSUE: doesn’t whip smaller amounts FIX: use for larger batches: making sure the beaters are at least 2cm covered. Conclusion: I needed it after an injury so stuck with it despite its banshee screeching (I can’t emphasise this enough). I don’t expect it to last, the paddles are plastic which in itself suggests they will not make it the year, but I figure the beaters etc will make it longer so like my stand mixer, it’ll be retired to large batch cakes and whips eventually.

Compact, powerful and super versatile
Arrived in it’s original packaging which I liked. Eco friendly choice. I bought this mixer specifically for mixing dough and cakes. Definitely powerful enough for all kinds of dough. Have used this for focaccia, granary, multi-seeded and pizza dough with no issues at all. Muffins, sponge cakes and also a very fruity Christmas cake were also easy to prepare. There are quick guide cards to suggest which mixer heads and which setting to best use. These are super handy and small enough to store inside the mixer. I specifically ordered this mixer as it ranked highly as a compact mixer. I don’t have a great deal of worktop space and this easily fits in a kitchen cupboard. All the accessories fit inside the mixing bowl so it’s perfect if you’re short on space. I love the timer function, super handy for dough and the speed options. It is definitely not the quietest at higher speeds but it’s also not a big problem because let’s be honest it’s doubtful you’ll be mixing for really long periods of time. The suction pads keep the mixer in place for long periods of time but they are also easy to release when cleaning and storing the mixer. Highly recommended for the price and functionality.
