It does what you want and does it very well, but also gives you so much more for the money you pay. There are plenty of advantages over your standard Wall Wort type Power adapter, among which are: You get a digital display that shows the DC voltage output value, which is also what you use to set the desired output voltage level. The potentiometer is very smooth and not too tight, such that it's easy to achieve the actual voltage value you need. The output voltage is accurate to what is displayed on the display of the power adapter, and also it's easier to use than many of the standard AC/DC power adapters in that you have a long cord that gives you a nice tight plug to use to plug into the outlet verses several other Power Adapters on the market what contain the transformer within the plug that you plug into the outlet source. The vast and large selection of adapters that are included with the power adapter also mean that this is a multipurpose Power Adapter that you can use with several different devices requiring many different plugs. This means you only need one adapter rather than one for each device, or you have one adapter that works across several other devices. As long as you specify the correct amperage sufficient to operate all your different DC devices, you only have to make one purchase rather than many different ones.

I've bought 4 of these for use on work projects and for myself or others who have a bunch of DC barrel-plug devices sitting around for years with missing power adapters. They've always been reliable and I've never found something with a barrel plug that this couldn't match. Been using this for a little over a month for powering a blu ray drive. Works well. The connectors have a firm fit. The power supply can easily be adjusted from 3.3 to 24 volts, but the knob is a little tricky to get dialed in perfectly. It is very sensitive. The case is metal and the cords are thick making this unit very durable. There are no fans so it makes no noise. The only reason for 4 stars is because of the sensitive knob. Maybe have switches to select a power range? Comes with tons of different barrel plugs and adapters making it useful for any device. Even comes with a sheet to identify the size of every barrel plug. Also comes with a plug for reversing polarity.

Works as advertised. Unlike other reviewers, I did not have any trouble setting the adapter to different voltages. The knob is sensitive, but you do have to turn it slowly.

Great product. However Voltage dial is hard to dial in exact Voltage.

Mechanically, very pleased. The selection of plugs and the design for interchangeability is excellent. Electrically, less pleased. The voltage is reasonably close (measured via multimeter, not o-scope), but it drifts over time. Seems to droop as the device warms up. I would be concerned about using this to power a laptop unattended for an extended period of time as is. The display does seem to track the change. Needed to replace a dead power brick for a laptop (19V) to retrieve it's contents, so that worked out just fine, but I did need to periodically change the voltage setting because of the drift.

Shnitpwr 72w universal Adaptor: * Confirming it works with Pinecil. knob moves fairly evenly between 3.5v-24v * readings close enough (20.9v on adaptor shows 20.6v-20.7v on meter) * has some certification stamps on it that I did not see on other really cheap ones sold by other vendors. * bonus - many DC converter adaptors included (default DC cord fits Pinecil 5525 with no adaptor needed) * includes short reverse polarity cable adaptor in case some device needs it. check device polarity before plugging anything into universal AC adaptors to prevent destruction. most people will not need to use the included short cable that reverses polarity. * minor issue: it does not truly turn off right away, low voltage jumps around on display for few minutes as capacitor slowly discharges. One reviewer on youtube said company knows about it/ is working on future improvement. * Note: I do worry about low cost adaptors plugged into AC for long term, so I always unplug it from the wall when I'm not using it. * works great for Pine64 Pinecil soldering Iron. I was using this at 21V since that is the max Pinecil is rated for. After I did the modification of Pinecil to support 24V (see pine64 discord for instructions) . Then I increased it to 24V and that works well too. * Overhall, very useful and diverse charger, I have no issues with it getting hot, only the tiny LED display gets a little warm but that is normal. don't forget to peel the clear plastic off the LED display. * This comes with a 2-prong non-polarity plug (blades are same size) . sometimes there can be issues with 2- prong chargers and flipping the plug over in the wall fixes it. * I have no issue with this charger at all so far, 5 stars . If something happens to this I'll come back with update.

Good quality build. The voltage control knob is sensitive, turn it slowly and the display value of voltage is kind of delay less than a sec, be patient to turn, do not crank it too much.
