What size vinyl roll is needed or what size will work?

I use 9 inch rolls which are sold without having to cut them

Bottom line....what all extra do I need to purchase ahead of time in order to be able to use it the day it arrives?

If your Silhouette doesn’t come with vinyl (some are a special that come with vinyl) you just need to buy vinyl in the color you want. I prefer cricut vinyl to Silhouette vinyl but that’s just my preference. Almost all vinyl sold in craft stores come in 12” rolls so for a Portrait you just cut off about 3”. You can use those pieces on your mat for small designs or letters. Good luck. You can buy vinyl at any store that carries crafts.
