fits lacie 4tb 2.5 drives, but make your own vents on both top and bottom parts of this
This fits the 15mm sized drives that are super thick, but I would cut small air vents on each side if I were you. I used a dremel (rotary tool) and made ~8 or so slots on each side, then burred off the plastic that formed from the heat and plastic I was taking off. This enclosure works well for LaCie 4tb sata drives (2.5") and it's a near perfect snug fit.

Easy to Install SATA Hard Drive Enclosure for 2.5 Inch 7mm to 15mm Sizes
I had a 15mm 2.5 inch drive that needed a new housing for it, and I ordered this one. It was simple plug and play. The cover of the box slides back slightly so that you can lift it off. And then insert the drive into this unit and close it back up. It was hard to find a housing unit that was for a 15mm hard drive, but this one fits perfectly. I like the fact that it is USB C on the box end instead of the USB 3.0 micro USB connection. By the way, I was using the old hard drive for backing up to a older Macbook Pro and the old original drive box I had had a broken micro connection port. So I was wondering if it was going to see it with the USB C connector at the housing. It came up fine when plugged in, and I simply continued on with backups with no problems. The other end of the cable worked with the USB ports on the old Macbook Pro with no issues. Overall, this is a good housing, has little rubber feet on the bottom and various connections available for the box to a PC. It includes a USB C adapter for the computer end if you need it. The access LED is nice and bright and it is easy to see when reading and writing to the hard drive. I normally don't keep the drive plugged in, but use it mainly for Time Machine backups. Actually, I use two drives to have double backups. Better to be safe than sorry. Overall I am pleased with the performance and while it is a bit more expensive than the slim housings only, the advantage with this is you have the option to put in any sized 2.5 inch drive you want.

Does its job.
Be advised that if you have your 2TB+ already with data and used a different SATA adapter, this case will not read the partitions in GPT at all. Win11 disk management only provided the properties menu for my drive. I had to place it back on my old SATA adapter (wiping partitions alone did not help) and converted to MBR (which wipes the drive). Once I return it to this case, disk management finally gave me the option to convert the drive back to Dynamic/GPT and rebuild the partition.

Nice case for larger 2.5 drives
I had a 15mm 2.5" drive that was in my PC but I wanted to move it to a USB case. This one works - it fits perfectly and performance has been great over USB 3.1.

Works Great
Let me use my drive again. Company had flagged it because of contents supposedly having virus (it did not). This enclosure allowed drive to be seen as a new device and I can one again access 30 years of software development.

Worked when other enclosures didn't
I have tried multiple enclosures that would not work before trying this one. They were either new or ones I had laying around, that were only 3.0 compliant, and on machines that were only USB version 3.0. None worked, or worked reliably. I have multiple 2.5 drives, ssd and spinning disk, and they all acted the same on all those enclosures. I don't know if its the 3.1 protocol is better at backwards compatibility with a 3.0 system than even a native 3.0 enclosure is, or if maybe the 3.1 power circuitry is better and is just powering the drives more reliably but this works where the others didn't. Since trying this enclosure I've bought multiple 3.1 USB enclosures now and they all work whereas the 3.0 enclosures don't. Who knows what the deal is, but it works so I'm running with it.

I would skip this one and look for another one on Amazon
Item is basically a piece of junk. We read the reviews which showed a lot of positive reviews and I have no idea what these people were actually reviewing. There are many cases on Amazon even though there are only a few that will handle a 15 mm drive. Which is relatively thick. There are other options on Amazon that are just a couple of dollars more and are much better quality. If you don't need the thickness Amazon probably has 50 different 2.5 inch enclosures that are better options. This is definitely not a keeper to put a hard drive in. It's plastic like many of the others are but this is actually really cheap plastic.
