Aideepen STC-1000 Temperature Controller, DC 12V 10A All-purpose Digital Thermostat with NTC Sensor Probe for Fermentation Hatch Freezer Heating and Cooling

A decent low cost temperature controller. I extended the temperature sensor wires by a few feet and it all still works. My controller has been set up in a damp environment for 2 years now and still performs well.

I liked the fact this unit does exactly what it states, for a very reasonable price. I didn't like the documentation - the Url in the accompanying printed sheet gave "404 not found". No other documentation in the sheet. After some internet searches: F1 = your target temperature (-50C to 99C) F2 = your temperature tolerance around F1 (plus or minus 1C to 10C) F3 = Compressor Delay Time. I'm not sure what this does. F4 = temperature calibration adjustment (-10C to 10C). Maybe the temp sensor isn't 100% accurate. So if you want 21C with a 3C band around that: F1 = 21C F2 = 3C The heating relay will switch on when temp <= (21-3) The cooling relay will switch on when temp >= (21+3) In between (21-3) and (21+3) this unit does nothing, other than report the temperature. 21 and 3 are my example figures. It works fine if nothing connected to heating or cooling (or both). Use your left thumb for pressing the small "S" (Set) button. You'll need your right thumb for pressing the up and down arrows for adjusting, while holding down the S button. I used positive (12V) and it worked fine. The terminals (5+6) and (7+8) do NOT provide + and - They provide a "make/break" switch on a single wire. Whether that wire carries + or - is up to you. I'm using this to temperature control some astronomy equipment in the cold months. I bought some "12V heater film strips" from "sourcing map" here on Amazon and they work very well. In the warm months I'll connect a fan to the cooler relay to cool things down. I replaced the temperature sensor with a different 10K NTC probe (also from Sourcing Map). It is of the waterproof type with a much smaller "bead head", which fits into the small space I need. All in all - this ST 1000 is very flexible, great value for money, and once you understand how it works it's very simple to integrate into almost any scenario.

Bought 2 or 3 years ago, difficult to understand wiring instructions but there are several videos on You Tube which help 👍🏻 Has worked faultlessly controlling heaters and cooling fans 😉

Brilliant thing ,we have a old rex (who?) Freezer and the thermostat had died ,now an obselete thing from all suppliers even the name is obselete unless your italian! We first bought a "universal" thermostat (its got 3 pins) which either refused to switch on or turned everything into the north pole refusing to switch off so iused a timer to switch iit on and off having shorted the supply and black wire. Bought this brilliant! Solved the problem BUT Why isnt the imput wires for heating or cooling built into the item ? After all it cannot be used without them so makes sense to have a permenant connector to them freeing up space in the joining clamp. And why such a short sensor lead? You can lenghten it but even 2m isnt going to break the bank! Difficult to mount other than in a cut out but not impossible . Good item and half the price of a rubbish "universal" thermostat that wasnt! 20 year old freezer now happy which makes me happy!

Après une surtension, la carte électronique de mon frigo a grillé. Coût de la carte 275€ :( Ce régulateur fait parfaitement l’affaire pour le circuit de commande du compresseur Une différence de 2 degré par rapport à un thermomètre mais le menu F4 permet l’étalonnage à +- 10 degrés par pas de 0,1 degrés La sonde existante du frigo n’a pas été compatible avec le régulateur mais le câblage existant a été récupéré et la sonde fourni a été branché dessus L’assemblage semble être de bonne facture , à voir dans le temps. Pour l’instant c’est un bon rapport qualité/prix J’en commanderai d’autre pour un système de chauffage de serre (prévoir relais de puissance et ne pas brancher de système de chauffage en direct sur le régulateur ( 10 ampère max)) Il y’a 2 sortie un relais pour un système froid et un relais pour système chaud
