Can they be nested without the lids for storage. If so how high would they be?

Some of my bowls are in use. Three bowls stacked inside each other without the lids on, reach a height of 12 cms, roughly 4 and 3/4 inches. So six stacked bowls, without lids on, should be around 24 cms.

Is the lid microwave safe ?

To be honest I always take the lid off before microwaving to let the steam out as obviously you cannot pierce the lid as you would with a bought meal, I put a plate over the top so there are some gaps.
