Compared to my previous plastic material scraper, this one is as if you were at the dentist, so you have to be very, very careful when you're scraping that you don't erode the tooth covering enamel. It's very, very sharp, so you have to be very precise in using it, but the functionality of its use because of the quality is absolutely amazing. I still use the plastic one more regularly, as it's of low quality, so it doesn't damage the teeth, so ironically that's good in that sense, but if I need to do a good proper scrape but I need to be very accurate so as not to damage the teeth, I would use this item because it is a solid, absolutely solid item that would last more than a lifetime.

A good aid to help with teeth cleaning. Would recommend!

Yes it does the job but the pointy instruments are very sharp, cut my finger just taking the protector off the end.

Pleasantly surprised by this product. I was advised at my last dentist appointment that I had a build up of calcification on my teeth. Having spent £80 having this removed 5 months prior I wasn't best pleased. These tools have helped me scrape that hardened tartar off. Which my dentist told me only a hygienist could remove. The products are very sharp and something you can use every few months to ensure you don't not remove the teeth enamel, but a great tool to help with tooth health and hygiene.
