Great, engaging activity
The media could not be loaded. We homeschool and my young kids have a lot of free time for crafts. I pull this scissors skills book out every few months and it’s always a hit (I have purchased this item several times). The quality and convenience is worth the cost because I can’t easily find free prints online that measure up to these colorful pages. My kids at age 3 and 6 will easily spend 30+ minutes *on their own* cutting and gluing a few pages from this book.Educationally, they’re great for vocabulary, coordination, responsible scissor usage, practice with glue, and just a great activity all around. The orange scissors do actually work well for plastic scissors. Once my kids are a little older though I give them real kid-sized scissors and we ditch the plastic ones. But I appreciate the quality of the included scissors.

So fun!
My 3 year old son loves this. The scissors are durable, safe, and easy to use. I highly recommend. Worth the money and now my 3 year old knows how to properly and comfortably hold and use scissors.

Has helped my son’s confidence with cutting
My son was having some trouble with fine motor skills and wasn’t able to properly cut with scissors at school. This has helped him so much. He has so much fun with all of the different activities inside. I have seen so much improvement with his cutting ability.

Safe & Fun Way To Teach Scissor Skills!
I purchased this to help my five year old daughter learn how to use scissors. I’ve always been apprehensive about letting her use scissors because of the risks (helicopter parent here). So when I happened to come across this when I was aimlessly searching through educational stuff for kids, I jumped on the purchase! These scissors only cut the paper in the book. They will not cut skin, hair or clothing. Which is good to know when you have kids who have a new found skill and get carried away with it! The scissors cut fairly well, unless the child is holding them slightly to an angle, then it more or less rips the paper rather than cutting. It’s slightly frustrating when you’re trying to teach a child to cut, because they obviously don’t have the best coordination right off the bat. So even 6 pages in, we still had issues with her ripping rather than seamlessly cutting the paper. Obviously with actual scissors, if you’re not holding them completely perpendicular, it will still cut the paper, so I guess it’s just what you get with practice scissors. My child really enjoys this activity book. At least once every other day she will ask to do something cutting. I try to limit her to two sheets per session because I’d like to make this booklet last. I do appreciate that the booklet begins with easy cutting tasks and then as you progress through the booklet, they get more difficult. Melissa & Doug products are always pretty well thought out and effective, so I’m not surprised with how nice this purchase turned out.

like really well
I bought this for my 3 year old who has recently become obsessed with using scissors. I wanted to find something safer for his age since everytime we’d do some cutting I would cringe and jump everytime his finger got near the blade. And I also wanted some actual challenges into what we were cutting ... not just randomly cutting scrap paper. This was exactly what I needed. The scissors cut paper surprisingly well! like really well. One thing I did notice was if my son made a mistake with where he wanted to cut, it was hard to go back and recut the correct area if it was too close to the original incorrect cut; the paper would kind of just fold over the scissors. But it is not a real blade so I waa ok with that. Safety first! The activities in the book were really cute and appropriate for his age. The print on the pages looked really bright, colorful, and crisp and the paper was a nicer, slightly thicker quality that what I was expecting. Overall qualty of both the book and scissors was above average! I am very happy with the purchase.

My daughter loved this!
My daughter showed interest in cutting up paper just before she turned 5. Giving her this super fun activity book and some child safety sizors improved her confidence in her own abilities, as well as helped her to gain more control over her cuts by improving her hand/eye coordination. The brightly colored pages and activities kept her interest and the cutout activities progressively become more challenging so it never becomes monotonous or too easy. Giving her this fun activity book to practice using sizors and cutting along directional lines has increased her awareness of staying inside the lines when she is coloring in other activity books! 5 stars! Amazing idea and very well executed! Fun and educational gift for those learning to use sizors and adults who are helping them will enjoy it as well! Thanks!

Scissors are nice
My 2 year old son loves to cut paper. We are able to bond and learn how to cut paper with this toy. It’s a good price snd the scissors are safe! I typically don’t let him have them without my supervision, but he did try to cut his hair once and he wasn’t successful so I’d say this is a good toy!
