Aveeno Pure Renewal Gentle Shampoo, 2 Count, white, 21 Fl Oz

i have long, fine gray hair and still have the oily scalp of a teenager. Finding a shampoo that cleans my scalp without destroying my hair is a trick. I usually have to use an organic, chemical-free shampoo that I love, but it's pricey, so for frequent use I wanted something less expensive. The Aveeno Pure Renewal Gentle Shampoo has exceeded any hopes I had. It adds real body without weight to my fine hair, cleans my scalp without over-drying, has a very light scent (a bit like baby shampoo) and is a great deal. It's very thick and concentrated, and I only need a nickel-sized dollop to do my whole head. I will definitely buy again, although coming in a 2-pack and lasting so long, that may not be for a while!

I received a sample of this and loved it so I'm quite glad it's available here on Amazon! The shampoo has a very pleasant, light scent - not too floral for those with sensitivities, but still very nice. It suds up nicely and rinses clean getting even my oily hair squeaky clean without overdrying. I use it in conjunction with the Pure Renewal Conditioner and really like it. The rocker top bottle opens and closes quickly and easily even with wet hands. Overall, this is a really great, gentle but effective shampoo with a light, pleasant scent and I definitely recommend it.

I love this shampoo. I personally have a really dry scalp and this shampoo does a really good job at balancing my scalp out and never makes my scalp never feels dry or itchy after using it, which some other shampoos can sometimes make my scalp feel. The smell is also so amazing. It's this light, slightly floral scent. The scent is present but it isn't overwhelming and it makes my hair smell amazing for days on end. It suds up nicely and always makes my scalp and hair feel clean after using it. For the price and size of the bottle, I definitely recommend this product.

I really like this shampoo. It’s fungal acne safe, keeps my scalp happy, and makes my hair super soft. However, it has titanium dioxide in it, an ingredient that could cause hair loss (it’s implicated, but the verdict isn’t back yet). I’ve been trying to eliminate it from all my beauty products, which is difficult! And I was surprised to see it in this “natural” shampoo. If Aveeno is listening, please reformulate this otherwise great shampoo!

I originally posted this review for the Aveeno Pure Renewal Conditioner, but I love this line so much I had to also post it here! I never thought that shampoo and conditioner brands really did all that they claimed to regarding smoothing, shining, straightening, curling, or volumizing. I figured that the different types mainly mattered in terms of cleansing your hair without stripping it and offering enough hydration without weighing your hair down. However, the Aveeno Pure Renewal line has totally changed my mind. I have very fine, somewhat thick, straight/wavy blonde hair that goes down to my midback. In the past, I have had to blow-dry my hair straight in order for it too look good and not be frizzy. If I didn't want to do that, I would french braid it or just wear it up in a bun, basically just to get it out of the way. But when I use this shampoo and conditioner, my hair is much more manageable and easily styled. I have started air-drying my hair in a low bun to create a wavy beach look almost 100% of the time. My hair is shiny and frizz-free with the perfect amount of curl that actually holds, even to the next day! When I switch back to using my old shampoo, styling it like this results in a frizzy, pseudo-wavy mess that looks more "I didn't have time to do my hair today" than "I just got back from the beach." Even blow-drying my hair looks nicer and is easier with this shampoo set! I still do a cleansing shampoo (Neutrogena) once every week or two, and I'll swap in a deep conditioner occasionally as well, but Aveeno Pure Renewals has quickly become my default set. I don't even look at other brands/options. (As a sidenote, I originally used the Aveeno Nourish and Shine Shampoo with the Pure Renewals Conditioner and had similarly great results. I switched to the Pure Renewals shampoo because it's sulfate-free.)

I dye my hair with Manic Panic and found that sulfates from other shampoos immediately stripped the color out of my hair, even shampoos that are supposedly made for colored hair like Herbal Essence's Color Me Happy. I decided to try Aveeno Renewal Shampoo (liquid) because it's sulfate-free and I'm so glad I did! With other shampoos I was scared to wash the dyed parts of my hair, but with Aveeno my color lasts for approx 1 month after washing my hair every 2-4 days. I can thoroughly wash my entire head of hair and the shampoo washes as good as any other, except no sulfates to strip my hair color. I do notice a some dye bleed in the water, but my hair color still looks the same afterwards which really counts. I have really oily Italian hair and the shampoo gets the oil out. If you have normal-to-dry hair I would suggest also buying a sulfate-free conditioner, especially if you dye it. I bought a large bottle of Suave Essentials Conditioner (Tropical Coconut) for a few bucks from a grocery store (Giant), which has no sulfates or dyes in it and serves its purpose well. I couldn't be happier with this shampoo/conditioner combo! It saves me time and money from having to redye my head frequently and buy more expensive dye.

For a couple of decades I only bought expensive brands, not grocery/drug store brands. One year after the 2008 crash I was feeling like saving money and I tried this shampoo and conditioner on a whim, and it was great. It makes my hair so soft without adding weight or greasiness. Since then I've tried a few other expensive brands whenever I feel like I want something "new" but I keep coming back to this. There isn't anything better that I can find and as a bonus it's way cheaper! I hope they never stop making it.

I’m the kind of person that pretty quickly gets an oily scalp. On day 2 I can get away with dry shampoo but day 3 never. I’ve tried biolage, redken, purology, s factor, tigi. All of these either weighed down my hair over time because they didn’t clean well enough, or they completely dried out and sucked the life out of my hair, so I decided to give sulfate free a try. I’m very happy to report this shampoo did the job extremely well. I have a LOT of hair that’s very fine and almost down to my butt. This shampoo is so so thick and concentrated I only needed a small amount so although these bottles are a smaller capacity, it should still last a while. I’m pretty picky about my hair feeling very clean after I shampoo. Normally I gravitate toward clarifying shampoos (which I know is terrible) but I hate feeling weighed down and greasy. This gave me that very clean feeling without sucking the life out of my hair! Normally in these winter months as well I get a very sensitive dry scalp that makes brushing my hair painful. That has also GREATLY improved. Also my husband who never really notices fragrance said he loved the smell of my hair. Big bonus points for that! For the price you can’t beat this.

Lo compre para el cabello de mi bb, ya que no veia que le creciera mucho su cabellito. Llevo utilizando un mes, el aroma es agradable y noto su cabello más cedoso y como tiende a tenerlo ondulado, ya no se le enreda, lo compraria nuevamente, definitivamente.
