I didn't purchase a double box but as I have been asked then my guess would be that it is the same size and as double 13amp socket because the 2 side screw in holes have to fit, as all double switches do, into a double surface or recessed box. As for depth then I would also think that its 35mm as the 4-6mm cooker cable wire would be slightly heavier than the standard 2.5mm twin & earth cable.

Is this a leading edge or trailing edge dimmer (suitable for LEDs)?

In the text it says that it is suitable for use with 230 volt LED's. I do not have this model.

Can this be used to wire up a storage heater?

yes it can just make sure you use the right fuse ratting that's compatible with the heater. The ratting should be on a plate maybe on the side of the heater.
