LOVE IT! Plastic Retro Fantastic!
This clock is perfect. I do not want to spend more than a hundred dollars on a clock. My max is $50 or less. I've done research on several home furnishing/decor/goods websites that sell these types of mid-century modern/retro clocks, and boy are they expensive. Prices range from the hundreds to the thousands believe it or not. I like the retro look of this clock. Yes it is plastic, but it is not flimsy plastic. It did not fall apart in my hands. I am not going to toss it around like a frisbee. The clock's body is one entire mold of plastic. The hands are shiny silver, look delicate, I did not dare touch them when I took it out of the box since I wouldn't want to put any finger prints on it and mess it up. From afar you won't notice the difference between the real thing versus this get-the-look-for-less clock. It will simply hang on the wall and do it's thing -- show me the time -- but still meshing in with my retro modern chic theme at our house. I have it now in our masters bedroom. My fiance who prefers simple modern rustic looking pieces appreciates my fondness for retro mid century modern looks. When I first showed it to him, he said he liked it [win for me! the search is over for the perfect clock], and he is the type who usually says if he likes something or not, plain and simple. For the reviewers who think it looks cheap and not like the real thing, I think if they wanted the real thing, they should not be cheap either! They should be willing to spend $1000 to get exactly what they want. Just saying! I'm happy with this clock. I'm getting the same look for $40+. I think that sounds better don't y'all think? :)

Terrible! Does not work!
I really liked the style and look of the clock. Considering the price, I didn't think that it was going to be amazing, but the design and structure is pretty good. The biggest problem is that it doesn't work and hasn't worked since 5 minutes after I put batteries in it! I changed the batteries a couple times and it will work for a couple minutes and then stops keeping time. I am an avid Amazon shopper and am typically happy with my purchases, but this clock in junk!

Retro-Mod without the Plastic
I purchased the wooden starburst type and it's quite nice. Walnut colored, real wood spokes and the aluminum hands add a fun, retro touch with the orange arrow on the hour hand. Looks great on the brick wall above my fireplace. One word of caution, the photos there on Amazon that show this clock in actual home settings are photo-shopped and make the clock look like it's about twice it's actual size. (Either that or they used tiny furniture... The clock measures 18 inches from tip of one spoke to the tip of the opposite spoke, not 18 inches per spoke.) I thought I'd be annoyed by the small white Cupecoy logo on the face, but in actuality, I barely notice it now that it's on the wall. (Although I would still have preferred to have it without the logo.) One last thing, it isn't a "continuous sweep/silent"quartz mechanism, but I can only hear the faint ticking if I put my ear right up to the clock face. It's VERY quiet. Not like those cheap ones that tick, tick, tick like Chinese water torture...

A cool, well-made clock
I bought this clock to spice up the decor in my classroom and I absolutely love it. Despite what some other reviews have said, I did find it to be made well and sturdy enough for normal handling. The construction is spindly by nature so I wouldn't be that rough with it, especially the hands, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing or indicative of poor materials or construction. It is large enough to make a statement but not comically so, and it is so snazzy and cool looking. My students comment on it frequently and think it makes the room much more interesting. So far, I've found it keeps good time and it still running on the same battery I put in it several months ago. If you think you might like this clock given the pictures here, I would strongly recommend purchasing it...it's totally worth it!

Looks good, but might be poorly constructed
Pros: Very nice visual design. My wife and I love it, and it fits wonderfully in our living room. So far, it appears to be keeping time faithfully.Cons: It took three tries to get a clock that was functional. The first one (purchased not on Amazon) arrived, seemingly intact, but the minute hand wouldn't stay put. The force of gravity dragged it down somewhere between 4pm and 8pm every time I tried to put it up, and there was no obvious way to make it tighter. When the first replacement arrived we could hear the little balls rolling around before we even opened it. So I'm guessing the quality control isn't great. But Amazon always does a very good job getting replacements, so it's only a relatively minor hassle. And there appear to be no problems with the second replacement.

Like the design but the clock is slow!
After I saw all the Amazon reviews about this clock, I decided to buy it without knowing the size of this clock. I agree that the packaging could be improved & that the wooden balls aren't as shiny as the product photo. Still, my clock arrived quickly without damage. The clock adds a punch of color to our breakfast nook. I've been using the clock for several weeks & do notice that the clock is 5 minutes behind. I'm going to change the battery to see if it fixes the problem. One suggestion for the seller - it would be helpful to specify the clock's diameter (14") in the product description section so customer can make an informed purchase decision.3/28/2012: I changed my rating of this clock from 4 to 2 stars due to the fact that the clock slows down frequently after my repeated attempts to change batteries. I believe the culprit is the clock itself. I'm going to ask for an exchange.
