Is it food grade compatible? I would like to use it in a home brewing system

Yes it is food grade compatible. However, it does not go the the temperature rating of 250F. Mine shuts off at 200F. So if your using it for a recirculating wort pump then this will not work as it goes into thermal shutdown. Save your money and get a better quality pump.

Question 2

What size are those threads?  What hose type do I connect it to?

Hello,They are 1/2" NPT threads. To attach a hose you will need a 1/2 NPT female to hose barb adapter where the hose barb is for the size of hose you are using. If you are using garden hose with fittings already on the hose you will need a 3/4" garden hose thread to 1/2" NPT female adapter. The image is of a ts5 5pv, but the description says ts5 15pv.  which one is it?

Can this pump water to solar panels mounted on a roof 35 feet high ?

Hello,If you have a closed loop there is no head requirement other than to overcome friction. The water that has to be pushed up will also come back down again and the water coming down will pull on the ascending water. The friction though can be significant for a 70 ft. round trip so the minimum diameter tubing would be 1/2" PEX. Smaller tube will have too much friction.For an open loop this pump will not work. The manufacturer claims 10 ft maximum, but we have found that even at 8 feet there is barely any flow. Realistically if you have an open loop only grid powered pumps will work.Thank YouHeliatos Solar
