I've long known from footprints that I have night visitors - bears, deer, coyotes, raccoons, possibly bobcats, etc. This camera has captured excellent night photos and movies of deer and bears walking on my drive way and across my lawn in less than two weeks since I set it up. One of the biggest problems I had in setting it up was to find a tree trunk that would give an unobstructed 120 degree view of my driveway and lawn as well as an open patch in the limbs to allow the sun to charge the optional solar panel power source for least some portion of the afternoon. I estimate that the night vision actually has a range out to 80 - 90 feet. Now that far out the animals are very dimly lit shadows and their travel direction must be away away from the camera so you can follow them walking from close in out to that distance. I have the camera capturing pictures before starting movies and that may not be the best setting to capture animals traveling completely across the field of view in the movies.

Worked great till it filled up with rain. The first hint was when the camera lens fogged up. The second was when it quit working and the clincher was the water draining out of it when I opened it. This is not suitable for outdoor use.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this camera to grab images in our backyard using motion sensors. I am a professional videographer, and have been for decades. This is a one-purpose camera for me.A few points:- The camera has many functions. I'm writing this after several hours of working with it over a couple of days, and there are several functions I still need to experiment with. But those I've used work, which is saying a lot for video cameras.- The camera has has video captures of up to 3840 X 2160P, and photo resolution of up to 5200 X 3900P. I've included examples with this review.- The night vision function works quite well, providing B&W images at the same resolutions.- Options for video include adjusting the length of the video clips, and audio (on/off). Video is recorded as .AVI, and I am able to open them in Premiere on my MacBook.- The thing I perhaps appreciate most is that the app to control the camera remotely--and is available from the Mac App Store (Android is also available, I've not used it)--works very well. All functions work (I've tried at least half of them), and the wifi communication between the camera and my iPhone is solid.You can use the app to change all camera settings.- The camera wifi is turned on and off using an included remote, with just two buttons: on and off. It works well, although my life would be just fine without another remote to keep track of. But it does work, and you don't have to walk over to the camera to reconnect or disconnect its communications.- Images and videos can be downloaded over the app, by USB cable, or by (quickest) the SD card.- I've sent a couple of questions to the Ctronics support email address, and in all cases received an answer within 12 hours.- Power: The camera holds eight AA rechargeable batteries (not included). I also purchased the Ctronics solar panel, which connects via a short cable (provided) to the camera. This is working well for me so far, I turned the camera on a day ago, and the solar panel is keeping it charged without my having to manually go out and turn the camera off and on.The only downside I've found is one that I've come to expect: the documentation is light, and while it does provide what you need to get the camera, app, and recording working, it does not explain what all of the provided functions do. I work with computers and video all the time, so I'm used to learning through playing with the equipment. You will want to too... the good news that I have found is that the functions do work! This is not a minor point. I've had a number of devices that you put time into learning, only to find that they don't deliver. This package does work, so I feel my investment is worth it.It seems that this is a good camera for its purpose!

The media could not be loaded. I don’t normally write reviews...Not only is it a great camera but the app is great too. I was a little skeptical when I saw the app didn’t have any reviews but it was definitely worth the risk. I tried another camera off Amazon that through my research of purchasing a better camera a lot seemed to use the Hunting Camera Pro app (do not recommend). The Trail Cam app and remote is SO much better and a lot less frustrating!! Also like how the cam catches the deer farther into the trees (notice in the video).This camera is set up in our backyard in a subdivision without any corn (buying more today). I can’t imagine what’d it be like in the real woods! Overall just a great camera and app!

The still and video cameras worked as described. The image quality was good. The kit with the device was decent as well. I was able to strap it to a large tree over night. It was triggered once by a mouse running across my yard and the IR illumination seemed quite good to at least 20m (60 feet).To be clear this device does not connect to Wi-Fi routers. The Wi-Fi only allows devices such as smartphones to connect to it so that the Trail Cam app can connect to it. In this mode of operation it worked well and the range one a clear path was at least 40m. I was disappoint by this as I want to be able to connect to my Wi-Fi router so that I could connect to it from anywhere in my house or even over the Internet.The unit comes with a USB connector (cable included). It didn't mount on my Mac running Catalina. However, it did mount on my Ubuntu laptop and I was able to download the photos onto that computer.The manual is very thin on details. It wouldn't have taken much to significantly improve it just by working with someone fluent in the five languages included in the manual; preferably someone who also actually explored and describe the functionality of the product.I would give this unit five stars if the manual were better and I could connect it to my router.

First the camouflage does help to hide the camera in a tree to catch thieves. The camera itself is sturdy and well built. The night vision is great and the motion sensor works very quickly. The monitor is crisp and clear.The only thing I wish is it came with a solar panel. The battery life is great but with space for such a large Micro SD it would be nice if you could leave it for a week. The clarity of the camera during the day is great. Like I said in the title, I used it for catching thief's who were stealing stuff from my barn. I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to using it again.
