Jumpin' & Having a BLAST!!!!
Ok, so here's the deal. I saw an episode of Nightline last month (google it) and fell in envy of all the people Kangoo Jumping all over Manahattan. I live in the SF Bay Area, an extremely progressive fitness community and had never seen KJ's. A little about me (so you understand where I am coming from); I am 37, 5'8, 158lbs (normally 140lbs) female. I used to (about 2 years ago) run between 3-6 miles 3-5 times per week, and my average times were 9-10 minute miles. I live an active lifestyle (Snowboarding all winter, hiking all summer). I've been trying to motivate a new running routine but have not been able to muster up the desire to torture myself into loosing the 18lbs I seem to have gained over the last 2 years. So I figured that $250 was worth the price of admission to loving my running routine again. I got the jumps Tuesday evening after Thanksgiving (perfect timing!) opened the box, put them on, stood up off the couch and blasted the music on my ipod. Jumping in the dark on my front porch I fell in LOVE with these things. Took the doggie for a Kangoo run around the block (in the dark) and decided that these things were going to change my workout routine forever. The next morning I went to one of my favorite running trails and went for a run. I was DYING!!! I had to run/walk because I thought my heart would pound out of my chest. This is so much harder then regular running, the best cardio workout and super fun. I have been Kangoo running 5-6 days a week for 2 and a half weeks for 30-40 minutes. A few things I have noticed: 1- Even on a run/walk routine I can still go 4 miles in less than 40 minutes; meaning you MOVE with these things which makes it so much fun. 2- I get stopped by at least 1 person EVERY time I go out with the KJ's so be prepared. 3- Going up any hill is really hard at first but gets easier on the 3-4th day. 4- My feet are truly a size 7.5-8 normal width, so I bought the medium jumps and have added a pair of sport gel Dr. Scholl's which add a little more comfort and fill in the boots (which are designed for men). 5- I always wear 2 pairs of socks, one athletic and one tall to cover my chins. 6- I was developing a crazy bruise on my right ankle, losening the top buckle has helped a lot. I wear my jumps firm to tight around my feet and a little looser around the calves/ankles (you will get a few bruises and soreness after the first few days but stick with your routine your body is just getting used to the stiff boots). 7- On my 8th or 9th run I no longer had to run/walk, running and rebounding all the way! 8- I love climbing stairs with these things, super fun and a great workout. 9- I can take my dog for a walk and jump beside her as she sniffs and enjoys her leisure stroll while keeping my heart rate up. 10- No chin splints! This is one of my favorite results. If you are a regular runner you know what I am taking about, if not then just imagine that your chins are on fire and you can barely walk because your calve muscles are so tight. 11- Ankles still feel a little sore, but they are feeling better now that I have loosened up the ankle (top) buckle. 12-Downhill can be hard on your knees because you just want to fly as you run which is creating more pressure as you rebound. 13- According to my Polar I am burning more calories then when I run the same distance/time. Which is awesome! 14- Each boot weighs about 4 pounds which adds to the difficulty of the workout, so be prepared. 15 - Super portable (I just leave them in the car and go). I run on a variety of terrain which is also fun; gravel, cement, asphalt and dirt all allow for easy jumping. One of my biggest concerns when I had my traditional running routine was that most of the trails around here are cement, which is very hard on your knees, hips and other joints. I can now Kangoo easily on all of my favorite tails without fear or wrecking my knees. I have lost just over 3lbs in the last two weeks (granted; if I was traditional running for the same period of time I would have lost the same amount of weight BUT I would have chin splints, knee pain and be BORED out of my mind), and have even been getting comments from cohorts who have noticed that I've lost weight (and they have no idea about my Kangooing). If you're at the end of this super long review I hope that it has helped you learn a little about these awesome rebounders. Good luck & please comment I'd love to hear from other Kangooers; what you are doing, how you are using them ect.

JUMPING FOR JOY!
I read a lot of reviews and asked questions before I bought these Kangoo Jumps. I wear a size 8 US and bought these in small instead of medium. It was suggested by others who had reviewed. They fit perfectly. They have wide width, but I wear them with thick knee high socks. They're also really hard on the bottom, there is no comfort sole in these jumps. Just a hard cut out in the shape of a foot inside. I have flat feet and arch issues, so they were too hard for comfort inside. I bought some foot cushions from Dr. Scholls and that made them a lot more comfortable inside. The boot is like the boot of roller blades. So far I've taken them out to the streets of NYC about five times. My last trip was to Central Park where I walked up and down heels, (called roads and bike paths) and up and down some stairs too. It was a great work out. I had an injury to my right hip flexor last year and that also caused knees issues. I can't run anymore, and my balance was way off due to the hip flexor injury. These are perfect for improving your balance. I also noticed after walking for about ten minutes in them that my heart rate was up, I was sweating, and I could feel my inner and outer thigh muscles, glutes, hip flexor muscles and core(Stomach) muscles being engaged and worked. These Kangoo Jumps, force you to stand up straight so that's good for your posture too. You can bounce in them and run in them. I haven't been able to jump up and down in them yet with both feet because the springs are still tight. But I can bounce one leg at a time and run in them without knee pain. I did feel some knee and foot pain after the park, but I over did it that day. I purchased the carry bag for these jumps and it's a large bag. But carrying these jumps for more than a five blocks or so is not IDEAL they are heavy. Over all I'm enjoying them, and I get stopped on the streets constantly by tourist who're curious about them. I'm planning to take a spin in them today, because it's the first time I could do any cardio activity without knee or hip flexor pain. But I suggest anyone who wears a size 8 and under to get a small. Even with a small you can pad them inside and wear thick socks with them. I wouldn't advise wearing them without socks. I made that mistake one day and almost got a blister on my right arch.

These are not just for young kids - great leg and core workout
I just got these last night as an early birthday present for myself. I wasn't sure what to expect. There are a few youtube videos I watched that made these look like a lot of fun, but most people using them in the videos looked a lot younger than me. So, I spent a little time figuring out the straps and clasps. It took me a few minutes but I got it. Then I put my feet and and tried to stand up. I couldn't stand up from the floor so I had to take them off, sit on a chair and put them back on. Much easier to stand up from a chair. The first step was tentative. I was afraid I might fall over. But, these shoes/boots are amazingly supportive and well balanced. I immediately walked and bounced around the house easily. This morning I took them outside and shot a video so you can see how easy they are to use. This is money well spent. I will definitely use these a lot. My foot is a size 6 and the small fits perfectly. I wore long socks in these and bounced, walked and jogged for about 20 minutes with no blisters or sore spots. I'll see how my muscles feel tomorrow. You definitely get a leg and core workout. I'm already looking forward to using these again tomorrow. By the way, these are definitely not just for young kids. Have fun and enjoy!

Great quality boot and a lot of fun if you hate exercising
I am having so much fun exercising. I wear a 9.5 shoe and ordered the medium and use tall cotton sport socks and they fit great. Not too tight or loose. The buckles can be adjusted to tighten if need be, but I did not find this necessary as there is more than enough support for your ankles. You do need some balance, but once I got used to them, they seemed to improve my posture and my bad knee did not hurt. There was no pressure on my hips or knees which was great. I did however have an irritating squeak on one boot. I called the Kangoo Jumps store and they returned my call within the day and were so helpful explaining how to eliminate the squeak by switching out the heavy cardboard insert from one boot to the other. It solved the problem and they answered all my other questions. They were a pleasure to deal with. I'm not setting the world on fire and am only able to do the Kangoo jump videos on YouTube for 5-10 minutes with many breaks, as these boots are quite the workout. As a person who doesn't excercise much, I am having so much fun jogging up and down the driveway. I've had them over a month and still having fun.

Can't wait until the weather gets warm!
This would have probably been a 5 star if I actually had more chances to use them and the price was a little cheaper. Otherwise, these are great! I'm 52 and everyone was worried about me jumping around in these and balance.. but they are very stable once you're up and standing and get used to them. They remind me of walking in platform shoes back in the day, but make you much taller. I did do some running in the hallways at my apt. complex and did get out the door on two occasions so far. Easier to run standing up straight and tall and don't try to lean forward, which is your first instinct. They make running fun....you go faster and have some bounce to your run, not to mention the looks and questions. In no means do they make your run a breeze. You still get winded and legs get tired. I've never been a typical runner and just wanted something different to do in way of exercise. These make your running easier on the knees and hips too. As a side note... I think everyone in my family has tried them and they fit many of them due to the size range. Can't keep the grandkids out of them when they are over to visit. I hope I get a great workout with them this spring/summer when I can finally get outdoors with them on a regular basis!

Totally worried these would make me pee with every bounce. So glad they don't
I am in LOVE with these!!! It didn't take long at all to get used to jumping and dancing and running in these. I have lower back problems (so stiff) and I can get in these and get a great workout in without hurting my back. My biggest concern before purchasing is that I thought I would pee my pants with every jump (real talk here...we have a trampoline that I literally pee with every bounce, so my concerns were real). Totally NOT the case!!! Sure, I have to pee before I jump...but I can last over 15 minutes of non stop jumping/bouncing before I feel like I need to pee. I have had them for almost 4 months and I am wanting to run a 5k in them in about a month. I do more "dance" routines in them. I have 4 kids and can't go on a run without them (We homeschool). Worth every penny and I would do it again in a heartbeat! SOOO much better then a treadmill or any weights out there. Putting the FUN back into fitness (so I will actually do it).

FUN and FIT!
These are SO MUCH FUN! I got them to help my lymphatic system (since rebounding helps to get out the garbage)! Not only do they do that, but with these I feel like I can breathe deeper and that oxygen filled places in my lungs where oxygen hadn't touched in a long time! That's a GREAT feeling! There's less impact on my joints while running too. Sometimes I use them to bounce at work at my sit/stand desk so that my body stays as active as possible while at my sedentary job. I somehow also feel more flexible after using them! The only con is that they are very expensive for most people--but I feel they are worth the investment! Health is your greatest wealth after all!!! ๐

bounce back from injury
A little adjusting needed as I could have got away with the kids model, as it turned out I had to cut the center T spring all of this is covered in the complementary dvd. Yes is it going to make you hot and out of breath but it is fun compared to outher cardio workouts, and the difference in 7 days to my waist line was shocking in a good way no Chang in my diet. But do as they tell you, just do a few mins 2-3 times a day so for me that was just 15mins in total as i haven't exercised much at all in the last few years due to injury love them but please don't expect them to be as easy as sitting on the sofa getting more out of shape you need to do a tiny bit often for the first week and build up slowly just like any outher good training program.
