I've had this dashboard-mounted phone holder for over a year and a half as of writing this review, and I absolutely love it! It works really well and is really easy to set up and use. I've tried magnetic phone holders, but the weight of my phone will often make it fall off, especially if I make a sharp turn. This phone holder keeps it in place manually, and I've never once had my phone fall out of it! I also really like that it mounts to the dashboard, because the air vents in my car aren't compatible with the phone holders that are meant to clip into them. I initially had two concerns when buying this product. My first concern was that my phone was simply too big for the holder. While it does seem to be designed with a smaller phone in mind, it handles the weight and size of my phone just fine (althought there are definitely phones bigger than mine, so your mileage may vary). My second concern was about the attachment to the dashboard. This item attaches with an adhesive pad rather than a suction cup, with could theoretically lose its stickiness over time. However, I've already gone through two hot summers with it, and it hasn't been an issue so far!

I've been using this for over three years and gift it to others as well. It's been in excellent condition and works whether on the dash or on the windshield. They've lasted through 100F+ weather to below freezing without issue or dropping. When used on the dash, I use the two prongs at the bottom for extra support, as the dash is textured. It's easy to use one-handed too, just place the phone on the back of the prongs before setting it against the back, which closes the arms. Though I found it easy to use, I had to help one of the gift recipients with the back screw, but it was easy enough, and they didn't need help afterwards. It's a good size, whether a small iPhone or much larger S24 Ultra and works even with bulk back mount attachments on the phone, though it does look slightly more precarious but remains sturdy. Magnet strength and stickiness don't apply here, as it's a suction cup. A little bit of water on the suction cup can help with the suction cup "adhesion"; I've never needed to reapply the suction cup, which is impressive.

I bought the Ottie mount in June 2023. It is easy to install and I prefer placing it on the windshield rather than the dashboard because I don't like placing adhesives on the dashboard. It has a good suction initially but when it is too hot like during summer, it falls off the windshield. My mobile phone fits well on the mount with sturdy grip. Easy placing & removing of the phone. It is a good quality mount. I like the location placing at the center view so I don't lower my eyes too much & can still focus on the road. After 2-years of using it and directly exposed to the heat of the sun, the suction becomes yellowish. Placing water on the suction helps to mount it again. It does leave adhesive marks on the windshield so eventually requires cleaning thoroughly of the glass.

I found this product reviewed on WIRED as one of the Ten Best Cell Phone Mounts. I vote it #1. I stuck this to a non-smooth dashboard surface, and it’s never come loose in several months or use. I did not use the included mounting disc; I simply adhered the suction surface on the mount to the dashboard surface. The lock and release mechanism is beyond compare, very easy to operate. You place the phone on the mount’s feet, which hold it in place, and press lightly on the phone to activate the clamp. To release the phone, you squeeze the two tabs below the clamps together, and the phone is free but still supported by the feet so that it doesn’t fall. Some design engineer really thought this out well. The location of the mount it obviously a personal choice. I mounted mine on the dash-top to the left of the driver. I can see the phone clearly without distraction from driving. The mount is stable and does not shake or wobble. You might want to consider being able to attach a charging cord from the mount location. I have a USB port close enough to connect the cord to the phone while driving. I found no need for the included magnetic cord attachment with my IPhone 14. The cord fits snugly enough without it. I initially set up the mount with the arm extended to its maximum length to bring the screen closer to me. However, this resulted in minor shake and wobble of the phone. I found that I had excellent view of the phone’s screen with the arm contracted to its minimum setting where the phone was very stable. Do make sure that you securely tighten the round locking nut that allows rotation of the mount. I discovered shortly after installing the mount that the looseness of this nut was the cause of phone wobble. This was a “user” mistake. I am super impressed with the design and quality of this product.

I absolutely loved it. It sticks really well and doesn't fall off even on rough roads. The best part is that you can attach and detach your phone with just one hand, which is super handy when you're driving. It feels sturdy and you can position it exactly how you want thanks to the adjustable arm. I've been using it for a while now and haven't had any problems.

I received this mount today for my new 4Runner. This is actually my third time purchasing it: one for my van, one for my Lexus LX, and now this one. That alone probably says something. What I like most is that it mounts securely on the dash without damaging the material. That was important to me. The 4Runner install was a bit tricky. The spot I wanted to use has a curved surface, so I ended up mounting it on a slight slope. Despite that, the phone holder itself has enough adjustability to compensate, allowing me to position the phone exactly where I want it. So far, it feels solid—and I believe it will work just fine.

So the mounting system feels solid & works well for my choice of placement. Adhesive was really sticky & the arm only bends slightly under the weight of a Samsung Galaxy S22 in a Spigen case. We will see how it holds under driving conditions as well as how well the adhesive & suction hold up in high temperature later on, but from simply installing it in my vehicle, it feels like it was a better choice than the competitors. My biggest gripe as of now is the damage on the box: I ordered a brand new one and the box is pretty bent up right out of the bag, but I can easily blame it on the post office who handled it versus iOttie themselves. Also not as clunky as I thought it would be and is relatively easy to manipulate with one hand. I'd recommend this product now, however stay tuned for when I make an updated reciew after a couple weeks of use. Ciao UPDATE 22/12/17: So I have been driving with this mount for a bit and I have now noticed that the mount moves a lot left to right just from putting pressure on it. I have removed the arm and re-suctioned the base to see it it is giving out because of that; we shall see. Besides this, it has held up well and has been very convenient and easy to use. No other issues and on note of the suction cup, it is still very sticky and hasn't shown any other signs of giving out. Some cons I've noticed (besides the aforementioned) is it does shake a modertate to high amount while driving and the whole unit does bend a bit from the suction cup point, but I also would blame that on the fact that the arm is at full length. I still recommend this product to those looking around, but highly suggest you try to have the arm as small as possible to eleviate as much of the shaking and bend (center of gravity and all). I will update one last time when I feel necessary (probably when it breaks ngl). Have a wonderful day and stay happy and healthy! :)

Just the thing I need for my car. I use Google Maps to navigate and this tool is perfect for kt. Landscape, portrait, with heaps of microadjustments you can make to fit it just right. Quite sturdy once you tighten all applicable points. Keeps them phone in place when going over bumps and making harsh turns. It even has an option to stick it on top of the dash if yours is flat. And the magnetic phonr charger cable holder is an excellent extra! Makes it easy to keep my phone charged, and accessible when not in use.

The best in-car phone holder I’ve used yet. It’s sturdy, easy to install, extendable and value for money. It’s not the cheapest available but I was fed up with keep wasting money trying others that break and don’t have much flexibility. . This is completely variable and has the ability to move to your preferred position then locks in place. It’s easy to place phone and it clicks into lock the phone in position automatically with little pressure on back plate. And then to disconnect phone, it’s easy to unlock the gripping sides by a squeezing motion on the 2 clips behind the back plate. There is a gap at the bottom of holder for your charging wire too Easy to use one handed too. Surprise valued purchase. If you have been looking for a phone holder, this is the one.
