2 years later and I'm still SO GLAD we upgraded our Vitamix with this beast.
We upgraded to this stainless steel Vitamix container a little over 2 years ago and I have never regretted it. I make almost everything from scratch and that really takes a toll on your appliances when you're grinding down hard seeds, nuts, fruit that's frozen solid, and those super hard version of pork rinds called cracklings (Chicharróns). We've been total Vitamix fans for almost 20 years now and love ours, but the plastic container was super scratched up from blending hard stuff over the years. I didn't like the ugly way it was looking but I could live with that, but with all the talk about microplastics and whatnot, I was starting to get a little worried about how much was getting into our food if the container was getting scratched up all the time - those scratched-off bits were getting into our food, right? Yikes. So, I looked up new containers and saw this stainless steel one and then did a double-take at the price. Holy smokes... buuuuuut, how much was our health worth? My husband made a good point: "If this thing helps our health in the long run, it's simply a good investment. Even 1 ER visit costs as much as this one-time purchase, so it's worth it from a money standpoint, too." We took the plunge and had no idea just how much we were going to LOVE THIS THING. First of all, it's quieter to use this stainless steel one than the orginal plastic one. I'm not saying it's silent or anything, but it IS beefier and isn't as clackity-clack as the plastic one was. The blades are super sharp and make everything come out perfect and smooth. I think you could practically blend a 2x4 in there. It has never leaked once these past 2+ years of use, and I use it every single day, multiple times. Super easy to pop on and off, just like the old one, and easy to clean. Maybe it's just because the plastic one was so old and this one was new with brand new sharp blades, but we're convinced this one was faster than the old container, too. Like I said, it's been well over 2 years, and this thing still looks and blends like it's brand new. As a side bonus, it looks so beautiful on the countertop and gets comments all the time. It's gorgeous, and more importantly it's a safer option. Plus, this thing is a BEAST! It's amazing.

BUILT LIKE A TANK and ZERO PLASTIC
TLDR: Highly recommended for exceptional usability, durability, and **ease of clean-up** with ZERO PLASTIC. I make multiple smoothies in a week. Protein shakes - FTW! I used to use a "bullet style" blender for that. But there were two things that bothered me: ONE: the bullet container is plastic. All that stuff in my smoothie (ice cubes, other frozen things) gets rocketed around inside at a bazillion RPMs, careening off the plastic container and - over time - teeny tiny micro-particles of that container make it into my smoothie. I tried to find a replacement bullet container / vessel made of SS, but they are not readily offered from most manufacturers (compatibility may be an issue) AND you still have a plastic base - which is always in contact with your smoothie while blending - in the equation. Additionally, the container size can be a little constrained in bullet blenders. TWO: clearly the smooth sides of the clear plastic container(s) were very, very slowly getting a little more cloudy (scratched), and would did not always come clean after a run through dishwasher. This VITAMIX Stainless Steel pitcher is freaking awesome. Solved the plastic problem. Solved the capacity problem. Clean-up is crazy easy. Like I said, I use this pitcher 5 times a week and it has been a true work-horse. The laser-burned numbers / markings inside the pitcher are helpful for portion consistency and look as good as the day it arrived (May). FYI - I bought the pitcher to go on a Vitamix E310 base. It works great on that. I think they (and Amazon) could make it a little more clear / obvious which bases are compatible with this pitcher. PS: The LID is some sort of Lexan or plastic adjacent material, but it is not in contact with the food. Ever. Just there to prevent my smoothie ingredients from hitting the ceiling. LID cleans up easy too!

How can you not like a stainless steel container?
I got this because of all the hype about BPA being in everything made of plastic but also water bottles and believe it or not receipt paper. Although Vitamix polycarbonate containers are labeled BPA free most people don't realize that there's also BPS and BPF as well as other bisphenols that could be in these and other plastic and polycarbonate containers. I don't mind paying $200 for a high quality stainless container like this one. Upon picking this container up for the first time I was totally impressed with the weight of this thing. I made an iced coffee as soon as I received it and I noticed right away I didn't have to use as much ice due to the container retaining the coldness. I'm using thi container with my Vitamix Venturist. My Venturis recognized the container instantly. I don't really care if I can't see the contents of the container that I'm blending. It's more important to know that I'm safe from the chemicals in the plastic containers, especially if I'm making something hot. If your reason for not wanting this because you can't see what's inside being blended then your priorities are crazy. As you can see the weight of this with the lid on is 3.53 lbs. For some this might be kind of heavy but if you can handle the weight this is a must for your Vitamix. I've learned that the numbers on the inside will tend to come off in due time and that's a bummer even though I won't use them very much but for $200 the numbers should be made to last forever and therefore I will give this 4 stars just for that.

Great alternative with some caveats.
I have an E310 blender, and I wanted to upgrade the pitcher. This fits and runs perfectly. I wish the lid and tamper were not plastic, but hey, it’s better than the whole container being plastic. It’s also hard to take the lid on and off. I also wish that the measurements were embossed or ingrained. Lastly, the price is pretty outrageous. My husband bought this for me as a birthday present, and I feel almost guilty because of the price. They appear to be printed. For those reasons, I’m lowering the review by one star. Overall, it is much better than the microplastic version I had before. I’m happy to use it, and I know itll last me for a really long time.

Buy the best, cry only once...This is the best. Worth every tear and loving it.
We had the plastic one for years and used it until it began to crack and get brittle (NOTE: Don't put the plastic ones in the dish washer!) Anyway, we started looking at this stainless steel one as well as the cheaper knock-off one. We've had too many problems with buying cheap, and we use this blender a lot, so we paid more and got this. And, we're very happy we did. This is great quality and it has the laser etched measurements inside. This is going to outlive us, I think. You won't be disappointed in this investment if you use a Vitamix often.

Stainless is Beautiful!!
This is a great upgrade to my Vitamix 5200. It washed up well and did not have sharp edges as others have shared. It fits nicely under my cabinet, unlike the original plastic 64 oz pitcher. The 48 oz pitcher is fine for me, and I made my normal smoothie. It is just as loud as the original pitcher. I recommend this, since it is stainless steel and fits so well under my cabinet in the kitchen.

Perfect Upgrade for our Vitamix
We purchased this stainless steel blender container as a replacement for our old one that cracked, and it has been a game-changer! It fits perfectly on our 5200 series base, and the quality is far superior to the original. My husband is obsessed with it—he makes smoothies every single day, while I use it weekly to make nut milk. The size is slightly smaller than the original container, but we haven’t found that to be an issue. In fact, it feels sturdier and more efficient. One of the best features is the locking lid. I love being able to blend and walk away without worrying about spills. Cleaning is also a breeze; just add soap and water, blend for a few seconds, and it’s spotless. Highly recommend this upgrade for anyone looking for durability, functionality, and ease of use!

Does not work with non-US blenders
If you have an Ascent 2500 series blender that was an international or UK model (ie non US) this jug will not work with your device at all.

If you live in Middle East don't buy it
My hope was so high before buy the stainless steel container and when it arrives my A3500 didn't detect the container just to know that this container does not work with international machines so please write proper description for the container and don't waste people time.

Review after 21 months daily use - 10l% recommend and so glad to have bought it!
We bought this in November 2024 (it was about $80 less expensive at that time) and this review is based on a year and 9 months of almost daily use. While the price for the genuine Vitamix brand container is high, for the frequency we use it and variety of things we make in this container with our Vitamix, I would absolutely recommend it. The main reason we bought this was due to growing literature noting the very present and serious effects of microplastics in the food and drink we all consume. We have replaced all of our food and beverage storage containers with glass, steel or ceramic, and making more foods from scratch just feels healthier and more intentional. We use our Vitamix two to three times every day, making smoothies/blended drinks, tomato sauces, soups, grinding oats/seeds/nuts into flours, etc. The stainless steel container is very solid, and the blades are wicked sharp. It is easy to clean, and we hand wash it quickly after each use. I would not (and never have) put it in the dishwasher because that would dull the blades more quickly. No rust or issues with the quality. The lid is plastic and snaps on tightly. It has a smaller, removable inner cup so you can add additional ingredients or to use the plastic tamper to push food down safely onto the blades. We don’t ever use the tamper, because it would defeat the whole point of reducing plastic chemical and microplastic in the food we are making. The plastic lid never touches food, but I’d love a fitted non-plastic option and sometimes just use a plate or silicone cover (if making a full batch of smoothie that might splash up to the rim). Seeing how scratched the original plastic container that came with the Vitamix was after a year of regular use, and wondering “where did all that plastic go?” made this purchase a splurge worth taking. I anticipate it will perform like a workhorse for very many years to come!

Overpriced but I still love it
Didn't want the plastic jug as I blend my hot bullet proof coffee every morning and was so aware that plastics were leaching into my coffee. No more and it keeps the coffee warmer - plus it's a very resilient jug. I can't believe I paid so much for a jug however it's worth it to me.
