How to you open the cockpit hatch? I don't wish to use too much power.

Find the rectangular "table" which has a woodgrain sticker on it and turn this 90 degrees to release the latch. This will allow you to lift up the hatch to access the inner compartment.

How long does the battery last when charged?

The boat includes a rechargeable battery that charges from a port in the back of the transmitter. This battery powers the receiver and the servos inside the boat. It will last 30 to 60 minutes on a charge, depending on the amount of activity of the servos. It can be recharged in 15 to 30 minutes using the transmitter charge port.

Are the red & blue models different frequency? I would like to race them against each other, but that won’t work if both transmitters same.

The radio control system is spread spectrum 2.4 GHz which means that your model won't interfere with any other, regardless of color. Your controller is paired with your sailboat so the sailboat will only respond to your controller. Around 20 sailboats can be operated together without any interference problems.

Maximum distance of radio control?

I have only taken mine out a few times, but maybe 25 yards is my max so far.
