When staking these into the ground, ensure the soil is soft and easy to penetrate... Staking into hard mountain soil regrettably bent off and dis-formed the stakes. Haven't seen any birds use them yet, but frankly I think they're more ornamental.

I bought this for my mother-in-law that I adore. This is a birdhouse that will last a lifetime. It is very cute and well made and should last years in the rain. Love this birdhouse, obviously have to keep it in the shade to keep the heat down but she and I love it.

Pretty nice for the price. Put in shady spot because it gets to hot for birds and they will not stay.
