It works
I am a sandwich generation caregiver and nurse. I initially bought these to treat my dad's skin tears. These were a last ditch effort before I was going to have to get wound care involved. However, they worked amazingly well and quickly healed the skin tears in a couple weeks. If you know anything about skin tears especially in diabetic patients, that is amazing. A few months later, my son had a piece of glass in his foot. Somehow it became infected and was quickly becoming an abscess. His pediatrician gave us a referral to a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. Because he is an active young child he was going to have to be sedated. Once again, I used these to dress the wound. Within, a couple of days these pads dried out the wound and allowed it to heal quickly. However, with that being said PLEASE do not use these without consulting a physician. Infections in a world of superbugs are not something to try to treat at home. A lot can go wrong, very quickly. I was only comfortable using these because I am a trained RN who has experience in wound care. If you see streaking or a large red circle beyond the borders of the wound itself, that is a sign the infection itself has spread deep an is no longer something that can be treated at home. These are an adjunctive therapy to be used to keep a wound itself clean allowing the body to heal.

My father is diabetic
Now that I’m a full time care taker for my father I’m learning more and more about diabetes, my father along with many other illnesses is a diabetic and isn’t as mobile as he use to be. Now that he’s much older (84) to be exact his body is braking down and he is beginning to get bed soars. I purchased silver patches for two bed soars he had on his buttocks he doesn’t like patches back there he’s so thin he can feel them but these silver patches were a god sent! Not only could he not feel them they took care of his wounds like no other. They’re so big that I cut what I need and put the other portion away till I need to assess his wounds again. Wonderful wound protector for healing. Must buy.

Very absorbent
The surgeon recommended product after removing a carcinoma. The first two weeks, there was a lot of drainage from the wound. The product got so saturated, it fell apart while changing it, leaving pieces in the wound. I found putting a very thin layer of gauge between the product and the wound helped the removal process. The wound is healing, so it must be doing it's magic.

similar to the dressing used at wound care
This product is very similar to a product used at the hospital's wound care unit. Which worked very well! The product purchased seems to work just as well at a lower purchase price. Very coinvent to cut the size needed. Using a little saline solution helps in application and removal is also a good practice to avoid tape on sensitive skin. My situation, the dressing was held in place on my shin with a surgical sock.

Same Product My Husband Received from a Wound Clinic
My husband had an accident involving a space heater. He has numb feet from diabetes, so he didn’t notice his toes burning until the burn was 2nd degree. The wound clinic that treated his burn gave him a product to use that was exactly the same as this, though from a different manufacturer. At one point in his treatment, they didn’t provide enough. After checking out the price at a local pharmacy (unbelievably expensive!), we ordered these from Amazon. They arrived just in time to stretch his supply until he could get back to the wound clinic to get more. If you have a serious burn, it’s important to go to your doctor for treatment. My husband’s burn could have easily cost him his foot, possibly his life. His mother (also diabetic) did die from complications from a much less serious injury to her foot. Even so, these did the trick when they were needed. In my opinion, this product is so affordable and useful, it’s something everyone should have in their medicine cabinet. My husband’s burns did completely heal with no complications. This product deserves a great deal of credit.

Great for diabetic foot care
Purchased this because my husband's podiatrist used this on a foot wound he had. They come in a pretty sizeable individually wrapped sheets and you can cut them to the size you need. Thankfully I only needed a quarter size during each dressing change. It has helped his wound heal up nicely. I also used this on his shin since he scraped it on an exercise bike and it helped the wound scab over faster and is healing nicely! Would purchase again!

Amazing
We used this when my daughter had a deep burn. When taking off the dressing, it does leave a gunky looking slime, that almost looks like pus. But, if it doesnt have a foul smell, then its just the aginate that completely absorbed into the wound. Always consult with your doctor if you feel otherwise. This miraculously healed my daughters open wound, and it saved her from needing a skin graft surgery!!

This Is Okay
I bought this as a substitute for Mepilex foam with Ag (silver) in it. It's really not as good and the black silver stains the skin. However, it works as a substitute if you really need it.
