Tru-SpecMen's BDU Pants - Tactical Uniform Pants for Military and Law Enforcement, 100% Cotton Rip-Stop Fabric

I might edit this review based on long-term durability. I bought a single pair and found out about the sizing issues that seem to dominate these reviews. The customer service was great and it was very simple to exchange the wrong size for the correct one. I wore the first pair for about three weeks straight washing them every 2 or 3 days. I 'pushed' a few common failing points of cheap BDUs, the first being that the hip pockets often get ripped by car keys or similar objects. The second is the baggy crotch and the possiblity of ripping the pants along the side of the fly when quickly moving in a manner that puts stress on them. So far, so good. I ordered two more pairs. I am going to address some other concerns in reviews because I think it is important. These are BDUs. They are meant to be baggy in the thighs and the crotch. The thighs need to have ample room in the event that the cargo pockets are used to store large and bulky items. If you are looking for 'skinny jean BDUs' look elsewhere or be prepared to alter the pants. Second, BDUs are meant to be long in the inseam. There is a reason why there are straps around the cuffs, the general idea being that you tighten the straps and tuck the pants into your boots. I don't do this too often so I am fully prepared for this area of the pants to fail eventually. If the pants aren't worn correctly, chances are the cuffs are going to get caught between your feet and the floor. Finally, yes the buttons might fail. This is common with even the best BDUs. If you want to wear BDUs, learn how to sew a button back on them. I am sure there are youtube videos for this. Second finally, comparing the durability of cotton BDUs to denim jeans is an apple and oranges type of thing. These BDUs are comfortable, lightweight, and by all appearances and basic testing, they seem to be durable. The pockets drain well. The BDUs dry very quickly. So far, I am pretty happy about these, but will edit this review if I experience problems beyond what I consider a reasonable failure point for the usage I intend.

Edited 3rd May 2018I can say now that I have ran through quite a few of these pants in the past year. They do not last long for the beating I put on them, but I keep coming back to them because of the fit. The quality after a few months means replacing them because they fade fast. They do not last long, the more you wash, the more dirt shows up on them when you go out, after a few months the pockets droop and become out of shape and quite easy to tear. That being said I will continue to buy this brand because of the fit and price, my job requires sometimes being in uniform for 10+ hours, being comfortable during those times is priceless.**********************************************************************************************************************************************************First off, I am a plus sized female keep that in mind when reading my review.As I explained, I am a plus sized female with hips and thighs to match. I usually have to buy pants that are too big in the waist to sit comfortably around my hips and thighs. A co-worker recommended this brand and Propper to me, I bought both. Let's just say, straight out of the box I tried on both and as of today I have yet to wear the Propper Pants, I will but not right now.Tru-Spec was comfortable off the bat. I didn't have that tightness around my hips and thighs or that excess inches on the waist that "bunched" up that I had gotten used too with Dickies Loose Fit. The material was soft and comfortable. When I wore it, it was spacious without being baggy. I loved all the extra 'storage' space provided by the pockets. I did not have to carry a handbag when I went out on assignments because I had the extra spaces in the pants to store everything I needed. I also like the fact that I did not have to fight to get my hands in my pockets as I usually had to do with my other work pants as they were always a close fit around my hips. Another thing I appreciated was the fact that the dirt brushed off easily. I work around less than clean areas at times and usually dust and dirt finds it way onto my clothes, a quick swipe with a damp cloth too care of alot of my concerns.I am DEFINITELY purchasing another one. The reason I did not give it 5 stars was that the color faded during the wash. If the colour had stayed I would have given it 5 stars.I will update my review after a few more washes and wears.

I like BDU-type trousers for hanging around the house in, and wanted a plain pair to wear outside with a BW parka, so these fit the bill. They're just what you'd expect, but like all Tru-Spec trousers, they're very long and the waist needs to be belted around your navel for them to lie correctly. The 100% cotton material seems decent enough and there are a couple of tighteners in the waistband.I got a medium long for a 34/35 waist, and whilst the waist is fine, the legs are crazy long, but don't look too bad when wearing boots. Better too long than too short anyway, and at the low price for plain colours, who cares?

Great fit

Bought as a present for a tall friend. Quality of material and workmanship is top notch as can be expected from Tru-Spec. But the fit is nothing like any other Tru-Spec pant I've bought, as I doubt there is a human on the planet these things will actually fit due to the unusually large distance between waist and groin area.So unless your names Robert Wadlow, then these pants aren't going to fit you! Avoid like the Covid Jab! :(
