Reduced deer activity
They do seem to work so far. Our plants and shrubs usually get grazed to the ground aspire other abundant food. We have strategically placed these around the yard and we are seeing less damage.

Did not keep the coyotes away
Oh boy I wanted this to work so badly. Set them up around our property mainly to keep the coyote's away. Coyotes hop right over them as if they were not there. The battery life is great, very easy to use, it just didn't keep away the coyotes.

So far so good he kept the skunks away. My dog got sprayed twice about these things and coyote urine. It seems to work.

seems to work but....
I like the theory behind these- flashing red eyes says "predator" to any varmint that arrives. They charge by solar and start flashing at dusk, turn off during the day. They seem to work as I have had no racoon poop on my pool steps for a month since I installed them. One downside is that they are not motion-detected. They are on all night so if we want to spend time on our deck some fairly bright red eyes are distractingly flashing about every half-second the whole time. This can be mitigated by covering them, turning off or placing them in a position that is less annoying. Another issue is there is no ultrasound as in many repelling systems, only the lights; so during the daylight or twilight times before lights come on, there is no protection. Just two minor complaints- they did the job for me.

Does Not Work
I have a large back porch perhaps 20' by 20' that is covered and the floor is concrete with pea gravel finish and I have lots of deer. I installed 2 of these lights to protect that area about 2 months ago. The weather here has gotten hot and dry. The deer have less to eat. Last night the walked through the area covered by these lights and ate all of my porch plants except the Citronella. They ate flowers, mint, Aloe, Christmas Cactus, orchid, Geranium, Kalanchoe, and more. Ate them down to the roots. I would suggest that you not waste your money on this product and certainly do not trust them to protect your plants from the deer.
