Will this fit a cutmaster 42?

Not sure if it will fit cutmaster42 due to the tip length. The roller has a taper where the colet sets with 2 allen head set screws. It's a nice item to have for the price compared to others and I'm pretty sure you could make it work. Hope this helps.

Can this be used to cut straight lines

Yes I do it all the time take the rod off and use a strait edge for a guide and it works great I love mine use it all of the time.
