Straight forward configuration, worked flawlessly. I have used this hotspot with several DMR software packages and it has performed exactly as expected. RF performance and sound quality exceeded my expectations, to be honest. The value is incredible, just mount this in any cheap pre-fab housing or print your own. Connectivity and configuration are simple for someone that is interested or experienced in digital modes, it's an easy DIY and a fun way to learn something that resembles the repeater side of radio for novices.

Exactly what I needed to create a dual-band hotspot.

This hotspot seems to have a lot of comments about duplex mode not working. I thought the same and almost returned it. I then had a brief brain clarity moment and said I wonder if the TX freq in WPSD is the RX freq on my radio and sure enough it worked. So the radio Tx and RX is OPPOSITE of the WPSD Tx and Rx. Also some stated that they were not sure what board to select in WPSD. I am using the "Generic MMDVM Hotspot Board (GPIO)" and have no issues. Hope that my mistakes and hours wasted can save someone else some time and frustration.

This would have been the perfect MMDVM card for my setup. Unfortunately the first card I got was missing parts (the right angle antenna adapters) and the card was defective (stopped working after an hour, stopped transmitting any signal the modem received) exchanged through Amazon for a new one, and the new one was defective out of the box. MMDVMhost does not load. Cannot reflash firmware even following directions provided in the box (both cards arrived with v1.6.1, not 1.5.2 as advertised. I wish this product would have worked out, having the USB port to connect a Nextion screen to in the future would have been awesome.

It was easy to install, no soldering was needed the header was on the board. Basically take from the package and plug into the pi. No issues at all.

The board works in simplex and duplex mode just fine and performs as expected and seems to be stable. On the other hand the documentation is TERRIBLE. Some information is on the web site sales notes (read to the bottom). Some is found on the web and a small amount in the included documentation. Using Pi Star and needed this boards firmware update to the most current for best operation. Then selection the correct board is UNCLEAR. Please - HIRE SOMEONE FOR AN AFTERNOON TO WRITE A PAGE OF PROPER DOCUMENTATION. Also, it would be nice to have a case available for the finished product. I have a Pi 4 and it runs at 130 degrees with this board. The cases available for this add on card have no cooling and the cpu will likely run too hot and thermally limit performance. (Pi 0-2-3 are no problem on heat)

Call me impressed. Had a Pi4 kicking around and wanted to add a digital hotspot into the mix. Loaded the WPSD image and had the hotspot configured and running within the hour. Works just as expected. Took me longer to read the band plan and figure out the frequencies I needed to use than get this thing up and running.

Works well when the firmware is updated however if you follow the instructions provided for the jumper position, it will not work. The jumper needs to be from bottom center to bottom right, not bottom left as shown in the instructions. Boot 0 center to Boot 0 - (not +).
