Can’t wait to try this herb and watch it do wonders for my feminine self care <3 smells and looks freshly forged then hung dry ( with love and intention ). I’m concocting it with nep nep, hibiscus, prekese and djeka for a deep feminine cleanse and a hormonal reset.

Dried vetiver roots is also known as "khus ki jad" in Hindi and I bought this product for use in making authentic Lucknowi (Awadhi) "super masala mix" known as "Lazzat-e-Taam." I found a variation of the recipe from Chef Ranveer Brar. The product came packaged well and authentic product. I smell the "earthy vetiver" that is fragrant. Because I am using this for culinary purposes, when dry-roasting over low flame, the stronger vetiver aromas emanates. I would purchase from Yogi's Gift again. I highly recommend it. If you're going to powder this, my advise it for you slightly dry roast for a few minutes. You will need to grind them in ***small batches*** in your mixi grinder. Then, you will need to filter/sieve through for finer powder texture. Save in airtight container. The rest of the rough/tough fibers can be used in vetiver water to be sprayed around or discarded.

It's good for most part. My only issue is that there were a lot of dusty roots which were not useful for what I needed it for.

The longer it sits in water, the stronger the taste but it’s still not bad. I feel better throughout the day. I put about 8-10 roots in and let soak at least 45 minutes before drinking.

As far as the scent goes, it smells fantastic. I purchased a couple of bags of this for extracting the essential oils from the product via steam distillation. Most sources I've read state that the Vetiver root has a 1% yield. However, the yield is am getting from these bags is only about 0.02% per 4oz bag. It is a very low percentage rate to extract the oils. Even after cutting them up to expose more surface area and soaking the cut pieces in distilled water for 24hrs prior to distillation as i have read to do in order to soften the roots and open them up a little. I am using a very small portion of what's left of it it for infusing with extra virgin olive oil in a small sealed jar to see what I come up with, but it won't contain the many benefits in an infusion that the actual essential oil would have provided, ill at least have the scent i am hoping. Other than that, the product does have a really great scent. I suppose for a decent amount of Vetiver oil to be extracted, you're going to need many bags of this stuff to get the job done.

This is just as described and is clean and dried to perfection. Nicely aromatic. Packaged well. Just what I'm looking for to make my own teas and tinctures.
