First, be forewarned - this DVD is meant to be used for instructors undergoing Stott's extensive (and expensive) instructor training program.I bought the DVD as a serious student seeking to improve my practice.If you go into it expecting to learn HOW to make Pilates work safely and effectively for you, you will be pleased. This is a learning tool, not a workout video. I recommend purchasing another Stott video aimed at home use to use as your workout video, as you are mastering the principles in this video.If you are happy paying an instructor to keep an eye on you for the rest of your life, then skip this DVD.I decided to do instructor training partially as a result of this video, and partially because I decided Stott Pilates classes were way too expensive for my frugal self. You could probably be set for the rest of your life after a couple of lessons with a Stott Pilates professional, and then the dedicated study of this DVD as well as its companion manual...  Stott Pilates Comprehensive Matwork Manual  Maybe check in every couple of months with your original instructor to make sure you are on track.

I bought this for my mother who has never done pilates before as I had heard this was a good DVD for beginners. however it was frustrating to see that the instructor in the dvd still went very quickly with few repetitions to allow followers to get the movements right.

This is a boring but thorough DVD. After I learned how to do all the moves, I was able to construct my own workout. The inside leaflet has all the names of the exercises from the DVD and it really helped. These people are the real deal. It was a great purchase for me to learn how to practice Pilates at home.

This would have been a great teaching tool for I wish to be certified. How ever, I was able to view video segments 1,2, 9. Very frustrating

I found it very sudisfata, clear explanations, would recommend to any teacher who wants to change her lessons,wonderful, I love it.

Not a exercise video, this is for instructors.

So, maybe I am just a little dumb, or didn't look hard enough, but no one mentioned that you had to buy over $500.00 worth of equipment to use this dvd. I just wanted something that would get me into shape at home and heard Stott Pilates was the best. Wasted my money on this one, although I am sure it is a GREAT workout if you have the proper equipment.
