Cold Steel Large Parrying Dagger with Sheath, One Size

Not long ago, I bought an English back sword from Cold Steel because its characteristics reminded me of my fencing sabre back in the 1960s. I was delighted with its quality and relatively sharp blade. I have no idea why I decided to buy the large, parrying dagger. Perhaps, it was because I have two hands. The dagger is as substantial as the sword. The one I received has one edge sharper than the other. The point is as sharp as a needle; I advise not verifying. It's large enough to fit well on my sword display rack.

I've had bad luck with some Cold Steel products here on Amazon. Last two swords I got from them were poorly constructed, finished and even packaged carelessly. This dagger DID NOT have those problems! It was well packaged. Original box was intact. Dagger and sheath were well protected and greased. Once the grease is cleaned off the dagger it shines quite well. Feels heavy on the handle and the handle is definitely oversized for what it is but I like it. I can confidently and firmly grip it and have no issues moving it in my hands. Great blade, great quality and even a great price at the time. Highly recommended!

Let me start by saying, I actually love this dagger! The design is really cool, the finish of it is good considering it’s as inexpensive as what it is. The fittings on it even look nice. But what makes me hotter than a horny toad in a microwave, is the wire wrap on the handle is so loose that it moves around and you can clearly see the wood handle underneath in the almost quarter inch gap that the wire creates around the handle (see video). I plan on returning this in hopes of ordering another one that does not have this issue. Very disappointing, as the dagger is quite beautiful. Feels great in the hand, nice weight to it, and again did I mention it’s really pretty! Hopefully I am unique in this experience. Been a fan of cold Steel for over 20 years now, absolutely cannot believe that I ran into this problem with that brand. As I said, I will give it another try, maybe I just got a bad one🤞

It's a big hunk of metal for a dagger. Very well made, quite sharp and looks great next to my rapier hanging on the wall. If you're on the edge about buying it, go ahead and pull the trigger. It's nice.

I am writing this in response to another review. This blade isn't sharp, because it's a dagger used to parry, not to cut. It has a tip that can thrust and stab, but it's supposed to help parry a sword, and you use your main hand sword. In addition, this is 2024. This is decorative primarily. We aren't gonna carry this around for sword fighting. The dagger is beautiful. It is weighted well,

First off if you can find a better dagger for the price you probably did so illegally... The fit and finish is incredible. The blade is thick and the whole dagger is very formidable. And sharp... wow scary sharp honestly And the mirror finish on the 1080 high carbon... sploosh Well done Bravo 6 stars easy I also purchased the English backsword by cold steel as well. After getting this as my first cold steel purchase I was more than willing to purchase from them again
