Nice, but handles are scuffed.
(Full Review)These White & Blue spoons are teaspoon size and look quite nice. They come in a pack of 10 (despite my pictures showing 9 as I'd just used one. I should have included it really so sorry if it causes confusion. You do get 2 of each shade), and they are made from tough polycarbonate material. They are slightly heavier and thicker than the disposable plastic spoons so have a nicer feel to them. They also have rounded edges which feel better and add to the style.I choose polycarbonate rather than melamine as these are safe to use with hot or cold foods while melamine aren't so safe when heated or using with hot food as can release harmful chemicals (but is safe if using with cool temperatures). These polycarbonate ones are perfectly safe and can be reheated in microwaves to sterilise if required and safe for baby. On that note these can also be put through a steriliser unit and are dishwasher safe.I like these colours but that's down to my personal taste. I believe the company that makes them have several colour sets to suit all tastes so worth looking for the ones you like the best. They measure:14cms/5.5" from end to endThis is about the average teaspoon size.I bought them to use on porcelain bowls where I don't want to keep hearing the clang & scraping sounds that stainless steel spoons make. These are also much safer to use as won't scratch any surface and are alot quieter. Those were the plus points but there is a negative aswell, as you will see from my pictures.Nearly all the edges of the handles are scuffed on both sides which you don't expect from a brand new product and as it's on most of them and not the same scuff mark that would suggest it's how they are storing them rather than how they come off the product line out of the moulds. It's likely they are chucked into large boxes allowing them to move about freely and rub against each other. Probably not the best way to be stored! Lose a Star for being scuffed, otherwise would of been 5Star.They arrived loose in a bag with an 'out of date' discount voucher for future purchases. So their attention to detail isn't great.I placed the spoons together and put my own elastic band on to show how they fit together nicely.Shame they didn't do the same.I would normally send these back for a replacement because of the above issue but as I won't be using them with guests then it won't really matter to me and serves the purpose I bought them for, but you may not be so lenient so it needed pointing out then you can make your own mind up.Onto value for money:A product is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it when it comes down to it. I paid £8.75 for them. Maybe a little overpriced, esp in their imperfect condition but as they should last quite a while I think that's an acceptable price to pay.Thankyou for reading my Full Review and if you've found it at all Helpful then please let me know.
