I can't believe I didn't buy it sooner.......
I don't write a lot of reviews. But this thing is awesome. I eat a lot of boiled eggs on a keto diet and it was a chore to make them. This little device make them so quickly. The eggs are EASY to peel and come out perfect. I wish I would have bought this device a long time ago. It recommends distilled water but I just use regular water and clean the plate everytime. Huge timesaver. Highly reccomend.

The most EGGscellent kitchen appliance!
I had been looking at the Elite Cuisine Maxi-Matic Egg Cooker for a few months, thinking surely it was too good to be true. Then Hurricane Harvey hit and caused a gas leak. The gas company took my gas meter, leaving me without gas to supply my stove, therefore no stove to cook with. I immediately purchased the Elite Cuisine. Upon opening, I realized all the reviews talking about how small it is were spot on. I normally buy jumbo eggs, but have switched to large eggs as they easily fit 7 at a time. The Elite Cuisine Maxi-Matic Egg Cooker is extremely easy to use. However, I have only made hard boiled eggs in it. Read the directions first. Be sure to puncture the top of the egg, which is the large end, and place it large end up in the tray. The puncturing pin is located on the bottom of the supplied measuring cup. The measuring cup is clearly marked for soft, medium or hard boiled eggs as well as quantity you are cooking. Use distilled water for easier cleanup. Once your eggs are cooked and the unit is cooled off, I spritz the cooking plate with white vinegar and wipe clean with a paper towel. It truly is that easy to clean! Once the eggs are finished cooking, and the Elite Cuisine Maxi-Matic Egg Cooker turns itself off, I unplug the unit and remove the lid. I usually just let them sit 10 minutes or so then peel them. The shells almost just fall right off. No wasted egg stuck to shells. No cursing while trying to remove shells that are hell bent on staying on. I highly recommend the Elite Cuisine Maxi-Matic Egg Cooker. It is a game changer! It’s a good thing our WalMart has been having crazy low prices on eggs lately as my family has been using our Elite Cuisine Maxi-Matic Egg Cooker almost every day since we got it. I will update my review once I make poached and scrambled eggs with it.

Wonderful egg cooker
I fell for the cuteness of that little yellow chicken egg cooker last year and just had to buy it. It was not great. The sloped top didn't completely close and the steam vent was low on the lid, and no matter where I turned that silly top, I always burned my hand on the steam. I donated it. Enter this Elite Gourmet Rapid Egg Cooker. First, let me say that it does not lie about the egg capacity; it easily holds a full 7 large eggs and the lid fits and closes completely. I live in a high altitude area and was very pleased to read that high altitude folks should use approximately 25% more water, which I did. My eggs turned out perfectly cooked and in record time! The water cup has a metal spike at the bottom, which is thoughtfully covered by a cap that fits the entire bottom of the cup. The cup is marked for number of eggs, such as 1-4, 5-7, as well as soft or hard boiled. Since I live above 4000 ft elevation, I will always use a full cup, regardless of the number of eggs I cook, and even with that, it still uses far less water than traditional boiling methods. I loved how fast this little gem is, and you will too! Also, there is a nice, loud alarm that beeps until you turn off the egg cooker, which I found very helpful. Once I turn off the alarm, I have a bowl of ice water waiting. I lift the lid, use tongs to place the hot eggs into the ice water, and let them sit for up to 20 minutes. This method makes the peels just slide off once the shells are cracked all the way around. I use the side pad of my thumb to push the shells off under slightly running lukewarm water. I have never had an issue and do eggs this way all the time. This cooker and puncturing the eggs on top before steaming them is the best thing that has happened. BUY IT!

Easy to boil, easy to peel, slightly confusing instructions
This thing makes boiling eggs SO MUCH EASIER than the traditional method of boiling eggs. All you have to do is add water, add eggs to the tray, push a button, and they're done within a matter of minutes. I don't use the egg piercer tool at all - I add my eggs completely whole and untouched and have not had a problem with them exploding. I've noticed they are also easier to peel than when I boil them in water. It just makes the entire process of boiling/peeling eggs so easy! The water measurer isn't completely accurate. I think a lot will depend on the weather and your elevation. So it took a little trial and error for me to get my eggs just right. I use a little more water than what is recommended to get my desired result. It comes with a cup that has lines in it for "hard/medium/soft/poached/omelette." I don't use the poacher or the omelette pan, I only use it for boiling the eggs. The water cup has indented marks instead of just painted-on marks, which is nice because the marks won't fade with washing. I fill a couple millimeters over the "medium" line, once they are done I let them sit, covered, for another minute. Then I drop them into ice water and once I peel them, they're just right. Some reviews mention brown marks appearing on the machine when the eggs are done. I use clean water and still get the little brown marks on the metal heating apparatus. But it wipes off easily with just a sponge and water - takes 2 seconds. If you don't wipe it down regularly and get any buildup of the brown color, just put a little white vinegar on it, let it sit a few minutes, and then it will all come off entirely. It's confusing because the instructions tell you how long to cook the eggs, based on how many you do at once. But there is no option to adjust the timing, and there's no option on the water cup to indicate how many eggs you're doing. You just fill the water cup, add it to the cooker, press the "on" button, and then it beeps when all the water has evaporated. It has nothing to do with timing. Once the water is evaporated, the machine beeps and it will not stop beeping until I unplug the machine. I think it uses a little more water depending on how many eggs you do at once - but you have to figure it out from trial and error. Note that if you leave the button "on" when you unplug, the button will automatically be "on " next time you plug it in. It would be nicer if the machine automatically turned OFF when it was done. But for the price, this is a great tool. It's kind of a bare bones egg boiler/steamer and it's exactly what I wanted.

This is the egg cooker to buy!!
If you’re looking for an egg cooker, look no more. I was hesitant to buy this one because it didn’t come in the color I wanted, but decided to try it anyway as the one I was replacing looked good, but had barely lasted a year. What a great decision! The cooking time isn’t as long, you can boil seven eggs at once, the eggs turn out better, the non-stick surface makes it easy to clean AND, if all that wasn’t enough, the eggs are so easy to peel! It even allows for more ways to cook your eggs. I absolutely love it and I’m sure you will too!

SUPERB
Superb yet inexpensive. I have been struggling to cook soft-boiled eggs exactly as I like them each time, but I just haven't been able to get it right on a consistent basis. I heard about egg cookers for the first time and decided to try one, so I picked an inexpensive one in case this isn't the answer. WOW! I can't praise this enough. First time, set it up for the soft boiled, and it came out almost perfect, but since it's infinitely adjustable, I'll set it to steam just a little longer next time. My suggestion is that you use distilled water if you have it, or get some, because when the water boils out, as it is meant to, the minerals and stuff in tap water will start to burn and smell and make the thing look gross, which doesn't matter, but it's easier and preferable. I happened to have a lot around. If not, I'd have just used tap water. If you're wondering if this is going to work - yes, yes, yes. Kind of shocking how exactly and completely it does exactly what it claims it can do. And I love the virtually infinite adjustability. Because it turns off when the water boils away, the amount of water you put in - there's a measuring thing - sets the time. So, you can adjust it timewise down to a molecule of water. Which means, very roughly, that the time the egg is cooked is adjustable down to around 1/9,700,000,000,000,000,000,000th of a second. With practice and precise measuring, you'll get the eggs cooked exactly the way you like them. Most of us don't have a way of measuring out water down to the exact molecule, so you will probably have to do with less than the theoretical level of adjustability the unit is capable of.

Hard boiled eggs in minutes, no muss no fuss!
If you want to save time and the inconvenience of boiling water to make eggs, you need this tool! It cooks 7 eggs at a time to a perfect hard boil! It has settings for soft if you like your eggs that way. It is also pretty sitting in my kitchen counter, the teal is beautiful!

Good results, but durability is meh
After using it for six months, I find the machine noticeably slower when it cooks. A year later, I always sat there wondering why the eggs weren't done yet. Yesterday it took twenty minutes to cooke five eggs, and I finally threw it away. The eggs are cooked perfectly if you use the measuring cup, but the durability needs some work.
