Old translations make reading difficult
Reading something as deep and meaningful as Marcus Aurelius' Meditations translated from Latin is difficult enough, but add in the late 19th century translations that use uncommon words and idioms no longer in fashion (at least in American English), and it makes it nearly illegible to modern readers. As important as these works are to humanity and grounding our overly emotional society, I imagine there are newer translations out there that don't require even well educated English speaker to constantly look up definitions of words in the dictionary. I wish I could give some alternative translations, but I am still looking.

Hardly perfect
Break out your thesaurus- As mentioned by previous reviewers the collection is a bit rough. On a positive note the spacing between entries in ‘Meditations’ ample and allows for note taking.

Rough but true
First off, this is a great collection, for any aspiring stoic. But, unfortunately, it has a few problems. Chiefly, in the translations. All of the translations are quite old, and archaic, mostly from the early 1900s. Language changes quickly, so there are far cleaner and more efficient translations which are available. Complex concepts should not be further complicated by problems with syntax and whatnot.

Small font size
The content of this book is no doubt excellent, but the font size does not create an enjoyable read, even with my new glasses.

Lazy editor.
I’m still reading the first portion (meditations) and unfortunately there are many spelling errors, font errors, and even grammatical errors. This is however, an incredible collection.
