No other recording in her entire career does a better job of capturing Beth Hart's music live than '37 Days.' the entire album was recorded and mixed in only 37 days. It was produced like a live album. All the people who worked on the album respected, trusted and loved each other: Jon Nichols on Guitar, Tom Lilly on Bass, Todd Wolf on Drums and Percussion, the talented Danish Producer, Rune Westberg (As Beth says of Rune, 'He's helped me be a better artist all around, I love this guy!'), Beth's friend and Manager, David Wolff, her husband, Scott Guetzkow, and all those talented people at Center Staging. There was a spontaneous chemistry on this record that only happens on stage. Universal.

Beth Hart Rocks!
I am a relatively new fan of Beth. I had simply not heard of her until a few months ago when I was trying to find Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love on Youtube and came across Beth's cover of it. I was blown away with each new song and was won over again and again. Beth is a singer songwriter with a great depth of passion and a whole lot to write about. The music itself is great from the hard rocking songs to the bluesy guitar and the poignant piano playing. Her voice is amazing. Angelic and vulnerable with an edge of roughness to outright screaming anger. Every note full of passion like her life depended on it. You really get the feeling that she is goinog through therapy writing and performing these songs. Affirming the pains and joys of her life. Acknowledging the wrongs and embracing the positive changes. The songs make me feel like I know her, they make me want to hug her and tell her that I'm proud of her and that she is strong enough to overcome her problems. My favorite song changes from week to week or day to day as I pick up on nuances in each track. I can't seem to keep the volume at a reasonable level when listening. My wife started questioning my fascination with this artist when every day I was playing her music. I just hope to see her perform live one day. Maybe she'll come to New Orleans one day but her biggest following is in Europe. I also recommend Live at Paradiso. Beth is meant to be heard live.

Hurricane Beth
How do you even begin to describe Beth? She has her own personal league because I can't think of too many singers that even come close. Hart is at once a vulnerable girl and a writhing sexual beast (and that's a compliment). She's the kind of chick that would punch you in the face and then kiss your wounds and hold you until you felt better and you'd love her for it. She's sometimes raw, sometimes polished but always spectacular. No one in music today delivers emotion like Hart. And then there's that voice. Oh, that voice. I don't think there's a note she can't hit. Her range is amazing and she's capable of delivering both high and low with equal force and focus. And she also plays piano beautifully.37 Days is her best effort yet and offers a good mix of what Hart excels at: pure unadulterated rock and roll, blues-inspired tunes that drip with her effortless sensuality and ballads so believable that you feel like your sitting in the room with her as she sings--like she's singing to you. "One Eyed Chicken" is easily my favorite track. You know she's not exaggerating when she exclaims "I just can't change". Beth, we don't want you to.While you're at it, if you're new to the Beth revolution (believe me, you will be hooked), go ahead and buy the Live at Paradiso DVD (AMAZING). You've never, and I mean NEVER, seen a performance like the one she delivers at the Paradiso. As Hart says on the track "Face Forward Son" from 37 Days, she'll "make your soul shake". She ain't kidding folks.

The essential Beth Hart CD
If you could own just one Beth Hart album, this would be it. Every song is a portrait of Beth's odyssey of self-destruction, self-reflection, and self-discovery. Beth's journey in life has been an extraordinary mix of tragedy and triumph, and she tells her story with rare vulnerability. She leaves it all on the floor. Lyrically, she's a master who writes what she knows, but in a way that is at once palatable to a wide audience, and yet is most powerful to those among her niche following. Alas I have discovered her too late in life. To think I could have been enriched by her music for many years if only the US music industry with its fatal flaw of trying to pigeon hole artists didn't drive her away to Europe for over a decade. Her kind of vocal instincts is rare. Beautiful, breathtaking vocals. She makes you want to sing. For those who appreciate the craft/art of song writing, she knows how to build a melody. With each aspect of her talent, she amazes and delights the soul. Her cover of "Soulshine" by Warren Haynes is the best interpretation of that song. Period. 37 Days is well worth the extra import cost. Copy it and send this to friends. Spread the word. Beth Hart is a once-in-a-generation talent. Like Janis Joplin, only better. Really.

A beatiful Beth Hart CD
This is Beth Hart calmed down a bit, just a bit. Very painful lyrics from Beth on most songs. I truly hope she and her extraordinary voice stays with us. The track, "One Eyed Chicken" caught my attention, who names a song like this ? A quick paste of "One Eyed Chicken" chorus will convince you."I'm like a one-eyed chicken and a two-legged dog. Shrinking heads in the kitchen then I piss on the lawn, I'm not the kind of woman that you want to take home. Only heaven knows the devil's pain. I just can't change." Only Beth could pull this rocker off."Jealousy", a slow jazzy blues track highlights her piano skills and the range of her trademarked voice. This is my 5th Beth Hart CD, I just can't get enough. The absolute best of Beth Hart is her song "Am I The One", my opinion, the best female blues song ever recorded. Please buy her music and bring her back to the US.Let me warn you, Beth is no "NashVegas" star or West Coast pop queen, maybe why the US record labels won't touch her.

Another Good One From Beth
I now own all of Beth Hart's current discs, and am waiting for the new one this month. This is not her best, but it is very good. My favorites are "Leave The Light On", and the "Live At the Paradiso". Every time I hear Beth's voice I get chills. I personally discovered her when she and Joe Bonamassa put out "Don't Explain." If you have never heard her sing before, do yourself a favor and buy one of her discs. If you are like me it doesn't matter which one, you will quickly be back buying more.My only disappointment is that Beth does not perform in the U.S. much. I have already told my wife, the next time she performs in the U.S. and I can get tickets -- we are going and I don't care where it is at. I like her voice that much.

Less than adequate
Stated as good condition. Disc looks like a skating rink! Tracks jump on my player. Compared with other suppliers this should be classified as poor. Given the cheap price I will just accept the loss and consign it the the bin.

Very good offering
I enjoyed this album a lot. I like Beth Hart's style. She is such a talent and has pure emotion and grit. Great selection of songs - my only grip are the 3 bonus tracks. It states live and I was looking forward to the them after hearing her RAH live album but the audience was not heard. They didn't sound live at all. I was disappointed. The songs themselves are fine, but they sounded like studio recordings.

Really good and growing on me
As a Joe Bonamassa fan I bought his album with Beth Hart this year called 'Don't Explain'. Wow, what a stunning album, I think it's going to be one of those legends throug the years that new listeners discover and that Joe and Beth earn continuous respect for. So, it was natural to take a plunge into Beth's own music and I bought 'My California' and this one '37 Days'. They were ripped into my collection and joined my typical mode of listening by shuffle after an initial play through of each. In truth My California disappointed me, I didn't hear those rich vocals and highly charged emotion and it hasn't clicked yet. 37 Days sounded a little better and with each listen I like it more. I am not going to comment by track but perhaps I will edit this review to do so at some point. Suffice it to say that 37 Days was a good addition to my large collection of music over many years, a rock-blues album I really like.
