Good Shave Ice machine
Got this shave ice machine after watching the review from Eater. It uses 100v so I bought a voltage converter to go with it to be safe since the machine is pricey. It's easy to use once you figure it out. When facing the machine, rotate the knob to the left to get finer ice. Rotate to the right for more coarse flakes. Adjust the blade as the ice block gets smaller to keep the consistency. It's a lot faster than a manual model. Used this machine to make shave ice at my daughter's party. Ended up making shave ice for over an hour but it was a hit with the kids!Only annoying factor is that it comes with only 2 molds and it's very expensive to get more ($50 for 4 when I checked). I freeze the ice, pop it out of the molds into a gallon ziploc bag and then repeat to build up my stash. I haven't tried using my own ice yet. the picture shows shave ice from about 2 blocks of ice. You need to pack down the ice as it comes out of the machine. Yeah the shave ice aunties and uncles in Hawaii do that for a reason ;)Pricewise it's expensive, but it does make shave ice like the ones you can get in Hawaii.

Well made, but it is too big
This machine shaves ice very well. The only problem is it is too big. This is for the people who enjoy the old look machine.

Makes Snow with TLC
I don't get why everyone hates this thing. I treat it carefully and it's been my go to for bingsu, snow cones, Halo-Halo, and the like and I've had it since 2019, using it at least 50 times every summer. It makes fluffy snow consistency. That's all you really need.

Great shaved ice. Soft shaved ice.
Makes powdery shaved ice, not crunchy ice. Only comes with 2 ice molds. So make a few ice blocks, store them in a ziploc. Shaved ice is so soft that it dissolves with syrup, so eat it immediately, and fill the bowl. The texture of it -is the best!! I did get the voltage converter to be safer. I saw a reviewer on YouTube and followed his recommendations. The plastic is a bit thin for the cost, but if you are gentle with it, it’s perfectly fine.

If you came from Eater to buy this item I would avoid
This machine is not consistent and requires frequent tampering to get non-chunky ice. It is also frail and not even made with expensive durable plastic, but very malleable and weak plastic. I have a feeling this will break in a year or so. They give you cheap flimsy tubs to make your ice in that are also just not even great. I am completely surprised, this is such a crap japanese product and usually products from Japan are high quality. If you want perfect shaved ice (light fluffy) it will be a lot of work. It is not easy and if you're making multiple bowls I wish you luck. I am unfortuantely out of the return window, but seeing that now its hard for me to make consistent fluffy bowls, I want to warn people to avoid this product. There are other machines out there, maybe not the ones eatery recommended, but definitelt products better than this one, that also takes tremendous amounts of space.

Looks good in picture, but not worth the price
At close to $100, I'd at least expect some metal components on this unit. The ice tray size is a joke. The two ice cup it came with has enough ice for maybe one bowl of shaved ice. Bottom line, it gets the job done, but not worth it at that price point.

Junk!
This product was junk! Made of all plastic! I would not suggest buying this product.
