I had my old can & like so many other products, they decreased the ounces per can. - I used these to Scotchguard my new washable rugs. FYI - Make sure you don’t spray on too thick as it will leave a white residue which I then just vacuumed off. - I wanted to do two coats so I learned to spray on thin coats letting the first coat dry down for a day between coats. - It all worked great. When I spilled something on the newly treated rug, I just used some vinegar spray & it came right up. This process will keep me from having to launder the rugs as often thus protecting the life of my new rugs. Very worth the product investment.

Not sure how well product works yet BUT, I’m very disappointed in the spray pattern when applying. It’s more of a stream than a spray. This negatively affects proper application. As a result you need to use more product than needed and get poor surface coverage. Expected better from 3M.

I tend to be a do-it-yourselfer and like to save money by cleaning my own carpets with a home carpet cleaner. When I'm finished with the task, I take the time to spray the areas that I've cleaned with Scotchgard Rug and Carpet Protector. I feel like it helps keep my carpets cleaner longer. I can spray a large area very quickly. It dries to the touch in an hour or two. Sometimes the carpet will feel "crunchy" afterwards, which is easily remedied with a quick vacuum of the area. My local stores no longer carry this item, so I was pleased to find it on Amazon at a great price!
