Doris Day - 100 Hits Legends

The "100 Hits Doris Day" is a terrific bargain because of the clean, clear quality of the sound. And, I don't know how anyone could complain about the quality of the 100 Hits Legends  selections chosen. Just because these tunes are out of Copyright cheats no one...Doris, and the record companies have made their share for their efforts; and now, music lovers everywhere can easily afford this excellent compilation. There are other excellent singles by Doris available to supplement the !00 Hits. Doris is good for your spirit, for your morale, for your feelings. Her sincere sound was really sincere...she sang as if to an individual person and because of that, she achieves an amazing intimacy with her audience. She was a spiritual person: read her biography. Today, she devotes her time/resources to helping improve the lot of animals. I mention this as a proof of her caring beyond her talent, beyond stardom.

Growing up in the "40's - 50's" era Doris Day was one of my Heroines. Her voice is distinctive and instantly recognizable. She had such a varied repertoire. She was also a great actress and comedian. This collection has pretty much all her music. I put it on and sit back, reminiscing or dancing around the house, singing along as I remember these songs. The clarity is great, Most are the original versions at least as I remember them, some from records and albums, some from movie scores. A few were surprising, some duets I hadn't heard before. Or at least didn't remember hearing.

This set is well worth the money for what you get. All origional Columbia Recordings. It has almost all of her charted hits from 1945-1956, Even Doris Day's duets with Buddy Clark and Frankie Laine are here. Her 3 Biggest hits: Again; A Guy Is A Guy, and Secret Love are Missing.And to add to the sweetness of this set, is the price is very affordable and I reccomend it. I love this boxed set! I love Doris Day and was trying to decide which of her records or CD's to buy. I am so glad I bought this one. It has so many amazing songs on it. I think the 100 Hits series is a great bargain. I also have the Bing Crosby one and I adore it. The price is great as well. Now, if I could get all of her movies on dvd I would be a very happy camper!!

I have long been a fan of big bands with their singers who also went on to become top singers in stage and screen productions. Doris got her beginning with big bands and went on to become well known for her starring roles in musicals and movies. A great CD that I recommend to all lovers of music,

Mom loved this, she didn't mind that some of the recordings sounded like records because that's what she is use to. Sounded great to me too. the only complaint she had is some of the songs from her more popular movies are not on there. I'm gonna take her word on it because I personally have no idea.

This album was more than I had expected. There were songs on there that Ihad never heard Doris sing on any of her other albums. For instance songs from her movies. This is truly an amazing album. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Doris Day. It makes for wonderful listening whether riding down the road or just listening at home. She is truly a wonderful singer.

loved my purchase. Doris Day has always been one of my favorite performers. Great voice and a beautiful woman. I wanted to purchase this collection for all of the great memories I have of her.
