Will significantly improve your workflow!
This is ideal if you are screenwriter who has tried to use dictation software with name brand screenwriting software only to be frustrated. Script Studio will significantly improve your workflow! This screenwriting program includes a dictation box known as "dictation assistant." So far, it has been a game-changer for me. For example, you can dictate "click, element, click character, click character insert" and that format will appear automatically on the page in the main window. "Select" and "correct" features also function in the dictation assistant. These features have saved me several hours on a new project. The outlining features available, including index cards, research folders, etc., are more than satisfactory but I don't think they are quite as robust as those offered by Final Draft or Scrivener. The templates for a variety of formatted projects including TV, stage play, musical, and novel writing seem to be on par with other writing software. If you need to write a properly formatted script via Dragon, this program is preferable to cutting and pasting from Dragon pad before manually reformatting in script format using well-known screenwriting software. Finally, online support for Script Studio is always prompt, polite and knowledgeable.

It's flexible and can work the way you want
I have been using Script Studio for well over a year, now, and have found it suits me very well. If you like to write notes and use notes as a development tool in the creation of story, there are lots of opportunities to do so in the software's Scratch Pad. There are seven different categories of notes: General, Character, <anuscropt Snippets, Story Ideas, Plot Lines, Development, and Research. It's a system for compartmentalizing your notes allowing you to control how much detail you wish to add.Yes, Scrivener is one-quarter the price and is very powerful, but the learning curve it takes is absent in Script Studio. If you like the freedom of taking notes and setting them up as you wish, you may want to give Script Studio a try. I've found it to be a go-to piece of software. It's also very stable and doesn't crash, unless of course you download another piece of software that interferes with its operation. It will allow you to write novels, short stories, screenplays, tv scripts, stageplays, musicals, poetry, essays--any tupe of writing you need or want to do.It's not cheap, but it is cheaper than Final Draft or Movie Magic Screenwriter. You can try it for free. I agree that when you get over the curve of learning Scrivener, it's downright impoassible to beat, but if you're not good with steep learning curves, or you're too frustrated trying to learning something as opposed to writing, Script Studio is an alternative worth considering and worth giving a shot. As the company is located in England, their take and design is a refreshing bit of difference and gives you a product that has depth for the price. It took me a few years before I summoned the courage to buy it, but I did, and I haven't regretted it, nor do I! I hope this gives someone some help in the overwhelming field of writing software! There are a lot of choices out there! Here's to hoping you find the right fit for you!
