This fridge water filter is excellent! Installation was simple and took only a couple of minutes, and the difference in water quality was noticeable right away. The water tastes fresh, clean, and crisp—no odd flavors or chlorine smell at all. Ice cubes are clearer too, which is a nice bonus.I also appreciate that it lasts several months before needing replacement, making it both convenient and cost-effective. It fits perfectly without leaks and delivers consistent flow.If you want an easy, reliable way to keep your water and ice tasting great, this filter is a must-have. I’ll definitely keep reordering!

Highly recommend!
Longevity, is as stated, every 6 months, but have been able to use them longer.Value, a bit pricey, but with the quality of the filter the taste is worth it.Installs easy, and quickly even if you forget how to install it. No leaks and the water pressure stays consistent.Have used comparable, other well rated filters. Researching different filters for impurity filtration, longevity and cost. And the quality is really good, but you can taste the difference with GE Filters.Ended up getting really sick, and ended up very sensitive to taste. Tried replacing our water filter with a new comparable one, filtered water from other sources and a variety of different bottled water. Their taste varied from yuck to ok. For health reasons, it was important in our household to drink plain water. We also and we live in an area where there are water issues and filtration is important.Tried everything we could think of as GE filters are pricey. However, once the filter was replaced with these filters, the water went back to tasting great! When using comparable filter you loose access to that chip that tells you when to automatically replace the filter. Which is pretty apparent with any filter as they all become clogged with their use and you loose water pressure when they need to be replaced.Different places have different impurities and everyone has a different pallet. For our household, this is a quality product.

Pricey but works
This is a standard refrigerator water filter. It works like it should without issue. Not much else you can say about it. Except I think the price should be lower but seems standard anymore. Be sure to run water at first like instructions say.

this one works great and no more error messages water taste great
works great. this is the 3 filter that i tried and this one is the best. the other said compatible with the xwfe but they were not. the "E" has a chip this is needed and will for work with you the chip. had it in one day. very easy to install. you do need to run a couple of cups of water thru to get the charcoal and water bubbles out and the water pressure will return. fits prefect. may cost a few cents more but the value is worth it. the others caused error messages and stoped the water.

Don’t buy more than one at a time.
These are original filters, I bought one and it worked just as advertised and water tasted good, no issues with ice making and lasted 6 months before refrigerator asked for a replacement. And I like to keep using the original to keep everything working as it should and filtering the water as best as possible. When I bought my second one it did not work and did not want to connect due to the RFID chip it has, I have seen that some of these filters have bad chips in them even from GE so be aware of that thankfully Amazon does 30 day returns and I will return my second one and buy another one.

Very easy to install
Perfect filter for our newer refrigerator. The new design location does not require unloading the refrigerator, open the door - open the smaller panel within the door and a quick twist and the filter is out. Installation is the reverse process. Super easy.

A 30 second job
The GE instruction sheet was incorrect, there's no adapter on top of the MSWF filter which needs removing. Just peel off the tin foil cover on the top of the filter, fill the new filter to the top with tap water and screw it in the holder in the refrig. Drew off two large glasses of water and by then the "sputtering" had stopped and I was back in operation. Last thing to do was resetting the red "replace filter" LED warning light.Literally took 30 seconds and didn't spill a single drop of water although I had put a dishcloth under the old filter before I removed it based on some other folks claiming they got water all over the inside of their refrig. Obviously user error. When the old filter is unscrewed, a check valve shuts off the water supply to the filter. I think the folks with problems pushed up on the new filter when trying to screw it in; thus, unseating the check valve and spraying water inside their refrig. Don't do that...just let the threads on the filter do the work as you screw it in the mount.Amazon's price was competitive with other discounters, shipping was free and I received the filter in five days. What's not to like about the Amazon ordering process? Absolutely nothing! The old filter lasted 10 months (family of three) and I just put an alert in my computer to order a new filter in nine months so I'll have one on hand the next time.

Defective Filter?
I was never able to use it because the red light remains on on the fridge, and no water comes out. I ordered directly from GE, the filter looked exactly the same, and as soon as I installed it, the red signal light on the fridge turned white. Water started coming out, and I followed the directions until the water became nice and clear. On hindsight, I suspect the one I bought from Amazon was defective. I still have it on a shelf in my pantry.
