Worked perfectly
I took a chance that this was the right capacitor. It was, and now my drill press works like new.

Larger than I needed but I managed to remove the case
This was longer and wider than the capacitor I needed to replace for my Delta bench-top bandsaw. Someone else mentioned in a review that they had shortened the case so I tried it. I shone a bright light through the case and could see that the actual capacitor was very loosely potted in the exterior white case. I cut off the very end of the case and managed to pull out the much smaller actual capacitor. I wrapped it in electrical tape to protect the wire connection to the capacitor, slapped a label on it to remind myself of the capacitance and voltage and installed it on my saw. I wouldn't recommend this approach to everyone but if you know what you're doing, it's an option.

Did not work for my Delta Benchtop model 28-185 Bandsaw
I ordered this for my Delta 28-185 Bandsaw that I found at a garage sale for $20. It would start but would slow down & the motor got pretty warm. I tried this capacitor (motor is permanent capacitor type) even though it was 450 V. I hoped I would be able to cut the case and find a smaller capacitor potted inside like reviewer Michael did because this was too big for the bench top band saw's motor capacitor mount. I could see daylight at the bottom of the case so I sawed it off (see photo) but this capacitor filled the entire case diameter. I taped it back together and strapped it to the motor. The bandsaw would not start but if I spun one of the blade wheels it would run. I don't think I damaged the innards by sawing but maybe I did. I don't know why it is so hard searching for the correct capacitor but I was able to find one on eBay. It is the gray one in my photos and the seller is "luck-jade". It was 2-1/2" long and the OEM was 2" but there is just enough room under the capacitor mount cover for it to fit. It worked and the band saw starts and runs fine. Hope this helps someone.
