TCHO Chocolate Dark Chocolate Chocolately Bar 2 Oz -Pack of 12

I just received it today, well packed. I learned about this chocolate at the Wholefood super market. I love very dark chocolate and have been buying different kinds to find one that suits me best. It is Tcho, excellent

These are very good and I've ordered them several times, BUT when I ordered them in June they arrived HORRIBLY DRIED OUT AND CRUMBLY. I should have sent them back for a refund. Now I'm trying again since the current 3rd-party source (FoodFinds) is different from the one before. I hope so, because this is great chocolate.

This 70% dark chocolate bar from Tcho is good mainly for two reasons. It’s actually quite smooth and rich, almost creamy, while some dark chocolate bars can be chalky. The cacao comes from Ghana and has good “chocolatey” flavor. I wouldn’t say it’s better than Equal Exchange’s Very Dark or Ecuador bars or Alter Eco’s Blackout bar, but it’s close. Ingredients: Cacao beans, cane sugar, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, vanilla beans. Besides the 5/5 gold stars, I’m giving Tcho 4/5 green stars for social and environmental impact. It’s organic (including the milk) and Fair Trade certified. The cardboard packaging is recyclable and the inner paper wrap is compostable. Tcho works with organizations like the World Cocoa Foundation in cacao-producing countries like Ghana to help farmers to generate a high-value cacao product (rather than commodity cacao). The reason I’m giving them 4/5 rather than 5/5 green stars is that some other chocolate makers (such as Alter Eco or Equal Exchange) are going further by using green energy or planting trees to offset emissions, and also using recycled or sustainable paper for packaging and vegetable inks for printing. With these modifications I think Tcho would fully deserve a perfect score.
